Clemson’s bag man jailed

Why is clemson trying their best to sweep under the rug what he took? I find it awfully funny this guy worked there since 1982 and all of a sudden items went missing the same month he retired. So basically he cleaned out his office and they thought they owned all of his stuff. Guess that's how life in a cult is.

Charged with petit larceny.
Petit larceny, a misdemeanor, is the lowest of South Carolina’s larceny offenses and deals with items valued at $2,000 or less. The charge typically is handled in municipal court.

Wonder what the real circumstances surrounding his 'retirement' may have been? When dealing with an employee who has been there for 26 years, seems to me that Clemson is being 'petit'. Maybe he knows where the bodies are buried, and they are simply sending a message.

Granted a good sum of money but not really enough to cause a stink over and I hate Clemson.

It isn't really money it is stuff. Sounds like he took his desk chair and stapler home when he retired or something like that. Bizarre case. I hope the result gets reported.

Now that the news got out-

CLEMSON, SC

Less than a week after a former Clemson University athletics department employee was arrested on a misdemeanor theft charge, he now faces a felony charge in connection with missing university property, court records show.

John Samuel Blackman, of Central, was arrested Tuesday by Clemson University police on a charge of grand larceny more than $2,000 but less than $10,000, according to Pickens County online court records.

Blackman, who was a longtime employee of the sports information office, is prohibited from returning to the Clemson campus while his charges are pending except to come to court, according to bond conditions listed in the Pickens County public index.

The grand larceny charge, which is a felony, carries up to five years in prison, under South Carolina law.

On July 12, university employee Richard Bagby, who is Clemson’s Assistant AD for video and technology, noticed that video recording equipment worth approximately $3,855 was missing from a storage room at the Jervey Athletic Center, according to records obtained from the Clemson University Police Department.

Bagby suspected that Blackman was responsible for the missing equipment after seeing similar items for sale on an e-Bay account containing part of Blackman’s last name, according to the report.

Then on Aug. 7, at around 11:30 p.m., Blackman was seen on video removing video equipment valued at $295 from the storage room, according to an arrest warrant. Blackman took the equipment and concealed it under his shirt, according to the report.

The incident was recorded on a covert video recording device that had been placed in the room due to recurring thefts, the report states.

Blackman was released from jail Tuesday on a personal recognizance bond, court records show.

He worked for Clemson from 1987 until he retired on June 30, Joe Galbraith, associate director for athletic communications, told The State on Sunday.

The university announced Friday that Blackman was arrested on a misdemeanor larceny charge after a university investigation that was launched last month when items were reported missing by members of the athletics department. State Law Enforcement Division agents are assisting in the ongoing investigation.

Yeah, based on the charge - he must have taken the piece of the rock.

He'd spend $20 million and only come up with something that wasn't remotely related to why he was investigating in the first place.:D
Time will tell. Meanwhile we are held hostage to the Russians on something they've got on Trumpster. Remember Ken Starr had a free hand and came up with nothing on the original intent of his investigation.

Where were you during Obama's 8 years in office? When Russia annexed Crimea he did nothing, as well as refusing to sell arms to the Ukraine so they could stem the tide of Russian aggression. This on the heels of him removing the missile defense systems that had been installed in Poland and the Czech Republic during the Bush administration. Even Leon Panetta said the Russians had been emboldened by the passivity of Obama. How about the Iranian deal? Do you suppose Valerie Jarrett being an Iranian, or John Kerry's son-in-law being an Iranian, whose family still lives in Iran doesn't have something to do with the cream puff deal Kerry worked out? It's a lot less far-fetched than the Steele Dossier crap.

As far as the Ken Starr investigation is concerned, the McDougall's and Arkansas Gov. Jim Guy Tucker probably would disagree with Starr coming up with nothing. They all served prison time. Clinton was disbarred by the State of Arkansas; paid a $25,000 fine, and was also disbarred by the U.S. Supreme Court and Clinton ended up settling a lawsuit with Paula Jones for $850,000 which was part of David Kendall's clean-up job for the Clintons.

I mean the big bad Trump turns into a whimpering puppy when Vladmar is near.

Don’t worry. By my expert observation, Trump is entering the final stage of his affliction (syphilis). He’s past the point of a cure and it’s just a downward spiral from here until Pence and the executive cabinet invoke the 25th.

Guess he failed to realize after all those years that he himself was/is merely a "product" of the very cult of which he worked for for all those years!!

You should brush up on the literature of who uses public benefits and which party tends to have college graduates and which party doesn't. Here's a hint: it flipped over the last twenty years.

Your 401k plan says...HELLO!!! Wake up!

Actually, mine rebounded from the disaster of Bush quite well under Obama. Made everything I lost under Bush back and then some. My insurance coverage which has gone up every year fo my adult life actually went less during the ACA years as well. Growth on my 401K and in our business has slowed considerably since Trump took over and started his pissing contest with all of our allies. But what do you expect from a "business" man who figured out how to bankrupt a casino....

I am Happy for you, My insurance costs went Bonkers after the Obama care mandate... I am bringing home more pay now, so I am able to spend more on "frivolous" things. Unemployment is no longer an issue, My issue is I cant find enough people to hire.. But again, I am happy you are doing well, I am also Proud of My country, not ashamed of it..

It must be embarrassing. Can't journalists request that info from police under the FOI Act?

It seemed to me the only actual positive income increases I got for about 7 years came because I was able to pay down, pay off or refinance debt. That freed up a lot of money. People think if they got a raise, they were making more money when they' were actually paying out more just to be insured, a net loss. On the bright side, I got a new pickup truck cheaper than a used one from one of those doomed Chevy dealers closing their doors.

I don't have a problem with government tackling real issues like medical costs. My problem with it is they never fix the root of the problem. Healthcare costs are skyrocketing so lets force everyone to be insured with as few choices as possible. That's why, when I hear things like "free tuition" I cringe. If you do something to actually lower tuition, you'll get my approval.

One Serious question, do you honestly think the Government is obligated to supply you healthcare?? I want the Government to keep me safe, that is all. I do not need them to Feed me, House me, take care of me "Cradle to Grave".. But hey, I am quick to say, that is my opinion. I will not condemn your opinion.. All i can say IS GO COCKS!!

With a name like Orange Ralph one would expect you to be an expert on syphilis.

I talked to a kid this past weekend at a family function that is a current Clemmer student enrolled in summer school. He said X-Man is rolling around Tiger Town with wads of cash throwing it around like Jay-Z at a strip club. Always has several hangers on in tow buying everybody anything they want with pure cash. Times must be different from when I was in college checking the couch cushions for change to buy the .99 cent 40 of Kang Kobra.

No, I do not. But a growing percentage of voters think they can just vote for free stuff. Wherever did they get that idea? A growing percentage of politicians will promise whatever it takes to get elected. It's semi-intentional that politicians want people to be dependent upon them for their basic needs. Dependents will vote for you every time.
