Gideon spent this season as a graduate assistant working with the secondary and was elevated to his new role for the Birmingham Bowl after former defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson left to become Muschamp’s defensive coordinator at South Carolina.. So you think he is on field or same role he had at AU?

Gideon spent this season as a graduate assistant working with the secondary and was elevated to his new role for the Birmingham Bowl after former defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson left to become Muschamp’s defensive coordinator at South Carolina.

“He’s hard-nosed,” senior cornerback Jonathan Jones said, adding that Gideon has earned the respect of the players. “He gets after it and has high expectations even for a GA. He knows what he expects.”

Gideon, who played under Muschamp at Texas and started 52 games for the Longhorns, has spent the last two seasons with Muschamp and Robinson following a brief NFL career. In 2014 he was a member of Florida’s quality control staff and then joined Auburn as a graduate assistant this season.

The time spent learning under Muschamp and Robinson has apparently served Gideon well.

“There really is a carry over,” Jones said. “He was with Muschamp and T-Rob for so long that he kind of follows in their ways. He’s a good coach. He knows his stuff.”

While players said this week that they’ve carried on with business as usual since the shakeup on the coaching staff, the interim coaches have done their best to pick up where Muschamp and Robinson left off.

AU fans seem to like what he did getting the players ready for the bowl game.
Anybody know if he got a raise or any atta boys for the job he did with the db's for the bowl game? i am a novice fan that only understands so much but i believe the bowl game was the best i have ever seen auburn's secondary play. i know some say it was because the rest of the d did their jobs and that may be true as well. they still looked awesome to me and i am still kinda in shock. so i am hoping the kid or young man was rewarded for it. and lord i hope he hangs around as well.

And making sure people who are arrested get a free lawyer.

I'm sure most people on this board would not get your comment, but it is a good one nonetheless. A groundbreaking court case that led to an excellent book that later became a great movie (Henry Fonda comes to mind).

I probably wouldn't know it if I weren't a history teacher.
We owe so much to people like this guy... and our Constitution (although some use if for perverse reasons).
But that's the way of the world.
