I remember when I was not long married and ran into Sterling at the then Richland Fashion Mall. He was dining with some friends- a big crowd as I recall- and they all seemed to be having a good time as it was a table with lots of laughing going on.

I didn't talk to him of course but he could tell I noticed who he was and he smiled and nodded at me (probably his way of saying "don't you dare come over here"), which I somehow turned into a story telling my sexy new wife about how I use to hang with Sterling on campus during my college days. (She was pretty sure I was joking- and I was). Actually, he was probably looking and nodding at her, not me, come to think of it.

Was a kid when he played. I was a good receiver myself and my dad used to call me the white sterling sharpe. He was kind of a dck when he came to the local booster club that summer and didn't want to sign autographs. I did get his autograph but will always remember he was a dck.

Corey Miller has said that was because of the way he was raised- and people took advantage of his family (or he saw it that way) and that caused Sterling not to trust people.

Corey says he's much better now with people that come up to him.
