I watched one of the shows on youtube yesterday (I think it was the one from The Big Spur) and they were talking about our offensive output. They said if you take away the points scored from special teams and defense, we've scored an average of 16 points per game, including Vandy and Charlotte. Think about it. Against A&M 17 points were from special teams (one was a 2 yard TD run so that almost doesn't count as offense), 3 blocked punts against GA State. We scored ZERO offensive points against Florida. Our punter has a higher completion percentage than Rattler and a higher TD to INT ratio (it's only like 2 passes, I know). This has got to be the worst offense, schematically, that Carolina has ever had.

100% The offense is definitely at the heart of the matter. Improve the offense and the defensive figures would probably look a little better. However, that's true of all teams and that's why these stats are relevant in any environment after 10 games.

So remove special teams production and we're just above Vandy in the basement of the SEC just like we were when Muschamp left the program. Beamer better get it together in the off-season or he's going to lose the fanbase.

Definitely as it stands today based on those figures. You have to give him full credit for revamping special teams though. I just don't know if you can sustain the level of sucess we've had in that department. And as we've witnessed, it certainly isn't enough to carry a program.

Unless they pull a rabbit out of the hat in one of the next two games, I don't see how they could retain Satterfield or the OL coach and also hang onto the core of the fanbase. No one is fooled by a weak non-con schedule driving us into a mostly frivolous bowl game* anymore.
(*outside of the extra practice period)

What is the "grace period" for shane? I know 2 yrs is nothing, but, just how long of a rope does Shane get?

With the mess he inherited, some will say you can't judge him before 4 or 5 years.

Imo, you can judge progress to those goals before that. I believe by the end of next year we'll know if we're really improving enough. But I can't see them making the call at three years unless the wheels really come off. Meaning he'll get at least 4.
