I know. There are morons who really believe they can change minds on an internet board. I truly feel sorry for those people. They need professional medical help.

Gomer, it's very easy to determine they are the same person if you try at all.
The way you communicate via writing is an original signature if you have enough data.

I dont think ANYONE on here is trying to change anyone else's mind. They are merely stating their Opinions!! If you are stupid enough to vote for Socialism and Harris, then More power to you. I personally was loving the $1.78 per gallon gas, 3% interest rates, Low Grocery costs, Secure borders, America being respected on the world stage, no wars all over the globe, etc etc. If you are happy with the last 3-1/2 years, CONGRATS to you .
I am not stupid enough to vote for Trump, a wannabe dictator and right-wing extremist. I personally love all the bi-partisan legislation and the other legislation passed that will help America for generations. And as far as secure borders are concerned, let's go back to the Obama days when illegal crossings were at a 50-year low. Then Trump arrived. I personally love the wage and salary increases. NATO is stronger and united now because of the past 4 years. We don't have a President laughed at when speaking at the UN as happened when Trump spoke there. If you want a sequel Trump term, that's your deal. But remember, sequels usually turn out worse than the original.

So you don't care for our armed forces, public school system, US Post Office, Medicare, SSI, SSDI, aid for dependent children etc. etc.? All examples of socialism at work. When you retire you can send me your Social Security check which is also a great example of Socialism. Of course if Trump has his way there won't be a Social Security check for you or it will be drastically reduced.

Trump called Social Security a ponzi scheme and has advocated for its privatization. At one point he supported raising the retirement age to 70. He plans to cut taxes on Social Security income which likely means a huge loss of funding support which could also detrimentally affect Medicare.
Furthermore:
The Republican Study Committee, which represents nearly 80 percent of House Republicans and 100 percent of House Republican leadership, has released a 2025 budget that would make Republican plans to gut Social Security a reality. By forcing Americans to work longer for less, their budget would cut Social Security benefits for 257 million people, or 3 in 4 Americans.
Breaking Social Security’s sacred promise is just the beginning — this extreme budget ends Medicare as we know it, attacks the Affordable Care Act, and slashes food assistance for children while lavishing the ultra-rich with massive new tax cuts.

They are lying to you Fowl. They use fear to scare you. Just like they've lied about everything else and the numbers above. For some reason, those in charge don't seem to care about the truth anymore - whether it be lying about experimental medications they are trying to shove down your throat forever, the economy, foreign affairs, etc.
Trump didn't cut SS when he was in office last time and has stated he won't again this time.

I also note that there is a big difference in how I respond to people, even those I disagree with, based on how cordial we are.
I think a lot of the over the top nonsense is a product of being on an anonymous message board. Get to know someone a little better and suddenly the debates get a bit more mature.

And raising the retirement age to 70 was discussed by a couple posters here as a good idea, and only one was a trump voter.
I think maybe social security is screwed, and changes, painful changes, need to be made. But politically, no one will touch it.
Absolutely. I have friends, and family, who are opposite me politically. Same is true sports-wise. But we all get along and respect each other, and don't even playfully needle each other when things go against us. Behind a keyboard, things get out of hand. I really wish that was not the case. A "ponzi scheme" is synonymous with fraud.
There isn't any fraud with Social Security. Politicians have just intentionally chosen not to properly fund it. Social Security could be properly funded. A true ponzi scheme cannot.

IF Trump were to win, he's immediately a lame duck. That would embolden Republicans like Susan Collins to go against him as well as some others that don't like Trump except when they are on tv and have to play the game and play nice.
I don't think Trump would be able to get a lot of things through the Senate without significant compromise, not because of Democrats, but because of Republicans.
Folks like Mitch McConnell, who personally can't stand Trump because of the racist things Trump said about his wife, will go along with some things, but won't go along with others, probably just to be a thorn in his side. McConnell won't be in leadership, but he will have a vote on the Republican side of the aisle and in the Senate, every vote will still be a big deal.
Raising the retirement age will occur eventually. It has to. Few politicians- there are a few- that are honest and admit that.
It's not a ponzi scheme though. That's just a term people use that never were in favor of social security at all.

Unlike you, I have no crystal ball to see into the future. I always try to vote for "GOOD". I know people who are more conservative than me. And I know people who are more liberal than me. I am fairly liberal on most issues now., especially cultural issues. I've become more liberal on most issues over the last 10 years.
People that have a different religion, or no religion, or who are gay (or anything else) deserve every freedom and liberty under the law that anyone else has- and should be protected from discrimination in the public arena. This is where I disagree with many conservatives the most.
But I have a mixture of views.
I support some regulation but I prefer government punish offenders more so than I do prevent them from offending- except in obvious- over the top cases.
I am for robust regulation of airlines and trains.
I do not support every view of Democrats or Harris or anyone else. Same goes for Trump and Republicans.
So why are you so fixed on everything Trump does?

I'm conservative on a lot of issues. I'm a strong "law and order" type. I have little sympathy for those who run from the cops on a "stop" and then claim "police brutality". I say "keep your hands on the steering wheel and do what they tell you. If afterwards you feel there has been brutality, that's one of the things lawyers and courts are for. If you are right, you might then win 'life changing money'".
I'm against Affirmative Action and DEI.
I'm against letting people off from paying back their student loans. If you borrow, you have to pay back (hope I'm not stepping on any toes here; but it's how I feel).
I don't like debt, for myself nor the government.
I'm against "Medicare For All".
Right now, that's what quickly comes to mind.
I voted for Reagan twice. I voted for Mitt Romney (not anti-Obama but more pro-Romney). I liked Mark Sanford a lot. I always voted for Molly Spearmen when she ran for State Superintendent of Education. Locally, I tend to vote Republican. I supported John Kasich for President in 2016 and Chris Christie last year. I will admit that prior to supporting Kasich in 2016, I liked and was for Trump. But, I changed my mind on him fairly quickly.
Do you consider your auto insurance a ponzi scheme? What about disability insurance? I don't. But it's built on people paying into the system so that people who need it can use it.
Is a mortgage a ponzi scheme? A car loan? Lenders provide money to X that is available because other people are paying into the system.
No, intent is important. You can't just leave it out of the equation.
Most people understand a Ponzi scheme to be a type of fraud that is built on artificially high returns with little or no risk.
