I know they had a coaching transition but damn! 8- three stars? I know they will close with a few good ones but this points out past performance is not as important as a situation that looks stable. I guess so anyways.

As a Gator, this worries me as well. What is even more amazing, however, is that Michigan is BELOW us in the rankings, at 102d. This after hiring Jim Harbaugh!!

I tell many Gator fans that we are no longer an elite program and have to re-earn it. They hate me for saying it, thinking that because of our past and our recruiting capabilities, that we are still among the top programs in the nation. But over the past five seasons (including one year with Urban Meyer), Florida's record is average. Consider:

Year-------Florida W/L----Year---SC, 2000-2004----Year----SC, 2005-2009

2010...........8-5...................2000........8-4.......................2005................7-5
2011...........7-6...................2001........9-3.......................2006................8-5
2012.........11-2...................2002........5-7.......................2007................6-6
2013...........4-8...................2003........5-7.......................2008................7-6
2014...........7-5...................2004........6-5.......................2009................7-6

Total........37-26 (.587)..................33-26 (.559)...............................35-28 (.555)

Similar, until you get to the recruiting average. From 2007 through 2014, Florida's recruiting rankings were:

Year---------Recruiting Rank----------Star Average

2007.................1st......................................3.89
2008.................3d.......................................3.82
2009...............11th......................................3.94 (12 recruits)
2010.................2d.......................................3.89
2011...............12th......................................3.58 (transition class)
2012.................3d.......................................3.70
2013.................4th......................................3.67
2014.................8th......................................3.58

Average.........5th......................................3.76

Give Holtz or SOS that level of top to bottom talent, and neither would have gone 37-26 during that span. But our problems are deeper than coaching. We have issues.

It is surprising for sure. Goes to show you no matter how high you are that bad times are always down the road. But teams like Florida and Michigan can bounce back quicker than many others. We at USC have to have a slow steady climb.

Speaking of bouncing back it's been less than two months and I'm already sick of clempson's bounce back. Seems they have everything going their way now and i'm looking down that road for the crash!

Don't follow recruiting but I do know that the 99th rated recruit in FL

Could start at a heck of a lot of schools. Don't know where these 8 3 star players are from but if its FL, I'd take them.
