Is Freeze a good coach without breaking NCAA regulations and calling escorts on his work phone? Do good coaches tend to leave their programs under NCAA sanctions with bowl bans?

Lou Holtz had numerous violations penned on him, typically after he left a school.

Who, exactly, is “we”? Listen, I hate to burst your bubble, but adultery has never disqualified anyone from coaching here (Jim Carlen, Joe Morrison, etc.) . This is a state university, it’s not a monastery, it’s not a seminary, (and it’s NOT Bob Jones University, either)
What about being under investigations and NCAA probations, because the name Lou Holtz comes to mind.
NC State, Minnesota, Arkansas, Notre Dame, and South Carolina were all found to have violated NCAA rules while under the leadership of Holtz. So being sanctimonious about Freeze discretions comes off as hollow.

You have to get caught for that to happen. Besides, how much did that affect the taters after Charley Pell and Danny Ford cheated and got caught? Not much; it got them a National Championship, and they weren’t ashamed to cheated, they were PROUD of it! I suspect it wasn’t so squeaky clean up there while they were building the beginning of their current dynasty either. You don’t go from nothing to something playing by the rules, most of which are a complete joke to begin with. I’m willing to bet in four years there won’t even be an NCAA with regard to major college football (and that will be a good thing!)
