Thought the year before was the one where our schedule (or lack thereof) cost us a bid. We basically played a Div. II type OOC schedule and IIRC the SEC wasn't particularly strong that year either.....overall just an unimpressive schedule.

They also lost a few games down the stretch to bad teams. Yes our OOC schedule was weak and it hurt us but there was reasonable explanation for why we missed the dance with 24 wins. It was a FARCE. Total rip off.

Finished 3rd in the SEC with 11 conference wins and 24 wins overall. Started 15-0, finished 24-7. It was the 3 losses to Georgia that kept us out.

Finished 3rd in the SEC with 11 conference wins and 24 wins overall. Started 15-0, finished 24-7. It was the 3 losses to Georgia that kept us out.

It still made no sense. 24 wins in the SEC is a middle range seed in the dance for every other school every year. PERIOD. Almost identical record the following year produced a 7 seed? The selection process is broken. Our SOS was not THAT different to give us a 7 seed one year and NOT INVITE US the other. The subjectivity of how they select teams for the dance is even more screwed up than the stupidity of how they select playoff participants in CFB.

I agree. That was one of the biggest snubs I’ve seen in a while.
