South Carolina added a huge piece to its 2019 recruiting class Wednesday with JUCO lefty Luke Little committing to Mark Kingston and his staff.

Some notes on his recruitment:

--Little committed on his visit Wednesday after a tour of campus and meeting with the coaching staff at Founders Park. He fell in love on the visit and didn't waste any time.

--He visited TCU recently and was going to visit Florida and Oklahoma before ultimately committing to South Carolina.

Some notes on his game:

--Little is a big power arm on the mound, sitting at 92-94 mph on his fastball and has topped out at 96. He also throws primarily a changeup and slider but can work in a curveball and cutter. He said the curveball mostly comes in pitcher's counts when he wants to throw a ball in the dirt. He said he's also pretty comfortable throwing fastballs by hitters up in the zone.

--One of his biggest things that he has working for him is his frame (6-foot-8, 230 pounds), which means he throws from an over-the-top arm slot that can make it hard for hitters to pick up the ball out of his hand.

He's a little shorter and bigger, but Kentucky's Sean Hjelle is a similar type of pitcher.

--The staff certainly thinks he could be a starter next season with his three-pitch mix and two other pitches he can work in if need be.

--Bobby in Charlotte calls about composure again. He rambles about something and gets dropped.

--Jimmy in Lexington calls about adding a Deebo pass out of the jet sweep, which has been done before.

"Jim, I think that's a hell of an idea, but we don't need to be talking about that Tuesday before a Saturday game."
