Recruiting Tidbits
All signs point to Georgia Military defensive end Michael Lemon enrolling elsewhere, assuming he qualifies academically, something I’ve heard is a stretch at this point.
Carolina’s coaches are well aware of Gaffney’s Joe Craig, but have not yet made a decision on whether to offer him. He’s likely going to be the kind of prospect they’ll want in camp to determine which position he projects to play at the college level before deciding on him.
The other thing to keep in mind with Craig and others is the Gamecock staff has to be more selective than last year in offering players because they’re going to be signing a much smaller class overall. They currently have 11 scholarships to give. While that number will go up some, it’s not expected to change dramatically. If they’re going to offer a player they suspect may commit on the spot or shortly thereafter, they have to be completely sold on him, and they’re not to that point with Craig. In fact no school is to that point with him yet.
Team Information
Offensive lineman Heath Batchelor is not back in school at Carolina this semester, but he could still return this summer and be eligible to play in the fall.
