we got lazy and did not work to keep the standard that was set by Ray. Ray had some of the best pitching staffs in baseball. We didn't have to worry about a series with a Georgia team that just a couple weeks ago was swept by Holbroken's CofC squad, then next day lost to Charleston Southern, although they bounced back and took a midweek game from the citaDEL. The sad part is the exact same thing happened with Spurrier and football. So my question is, " how do we change this and who is accountable?" Will it happen in Mbb and Wbb? Does Ray operate our athletic department like "Best is the Standard" or do we get fat and lazy once we are successful?

To be fair and accurate, we did play in a third consecutive championship series the season following the B2B championships, so not all went to hell right away. But your larger point is valid. Certainly, the Holbrook era was a disappointment and a major step back. The new coaching staff has some ground to make up.

Maybe I’m mistaken but who is always on top? Seems that parity makes it hard to build a dynasty anymore. All the reason to say what Tanner did was even more amazing.
We are the last repeat champions.

I think the OP is asking ‘How do we maintain the high standards?’ In my opinion you don’t hire your right hand man when you are at the apex. You offer the Job to a proven coach. In football, when Spurrier slowed down and definitely when he wanted to leave, go get the next hot coach while the iron is hot. Got to be RUTHLESS!!!!

Sounds like instead of making hay with your enjoyment of Carolina sports you looked for the next thing to complain about

The problem is that Ray is a baseball coach (the best ive ever seen) he is not a AD. Look at his baseball hires they are a jokes. Not sure he wants someone to beat his records. If he does this is a pi$$ poor was of showing it. The worst team we ever had should beat Furman and the Citadel.

The way I see it, it is very similar to Muschamp`s 1st year, in that we just don`t have enough talent on the team. Then we are down 2 of our best hitters and our best pitcher this weekend. It`s going to be a long year. It`s not Kingston`s fault. This is basically the same team as last year. I think they try hard but the results are about the same. I think the 2 main problem are lack of clutch hitting(same as last year). and lack of control by the pitchers. He walk so many people and, as they say, a walk is as good as a hit. Lets just support the team and coaches and just win as many games as we can.

Do you know of any Cock fans that enjoyed being swept by Georgia?
Perhaps there is some middle ground between "enjoyed being swept by Georgia" and "goes on message board to start topic complaining about entire program." We all want Carolina to be better but the fact is all the best things in our sports history...happened this decade. It ain't so bad
