Jaishawn Barham

No, because he was told it would happen and doesn't need to make any assumptions for a flimsy motivation on a stupid theory, schmuck. That's the difference between what Beamer knows with support and the assertions you pull out your ass.
This.

Listen to the press conference. Beamer said he was called 10 minutes after the commitment and told Barnham would flip on Wednesday because "it was the plan all along." Additionally, Beamer said he was on the phone with Barnham and Barnham's mom at 10:33 last night and they were thanking Beamer for the opportunity they were giving Barnham. That's a lot more information than you would normally get during a press conference.

My inference from all of this was that this wasn't a kid that made a tough decision on Saturday and then tossed and turned all weekend and then made the best decision for him but rather something else (Leverage for NIL? -- talked about later by Beamer unrelated to Barnham). At first I actually felt sorry for Barnham.

This is the quintessential example of you not arguing in good faith.

This is the quintessential example of you not arguing in good faith.
There was a good faith argument, interspersed with insulting you. Insulting you isn't arguing in bad faith, you conflating your baseless loose assertions without as much as hearsay behind it with Beamer recounting things which he has first hand knowledge of that was vindicated with reality. Conspiracies happen, like the Reichstag fire, what sets a conspiracy theory apart is the leaps in logic, unfounded assumptions, unsubstantiated assertions and disjointed/flimsy attributed motive. The only way your baseless speculation is as reliable as Beamer's first hand knowledge is if you're either clairvoyant or Beamer is lying.

Now that I laid out a good faith argument and held your hand through the obvious, allow me to reiterate the loosely related insult, you're a schmuck.

So you're saying Beamer was in on the meeting between Barham and the Maryland coaching staff that set this up? So he was an accomplice?

Or are you saying Beamer believes hearsay, and therefore you believe it because you believe Beamer believes in the hearsay?

I think @scbirdhunter was on on it. He's the one who said he knew the kid would never sign.

Everything Beamer was told played out this morning, if you can't see that that isn't the same as you talking out of your ass then you're just simply as dumb as it gets.

Can't admit you're wrong can you?
I'm not wrong. What was the basis of your assertion? Did some whistleblower call you up to say Rattler's coach was lying for Beamer to save face over not firing Satterfield? Did they give you predictive information that later turned out to be true? Are you simply calling Beamer a liar? There is no way what your said is comparable to what Beamer said unless you can answer one of these questions in the affirmative, if you can't acknowledge that you're a schmuck, if you're calling Beamer a liar and hiding behind anonymity you do it you're a schmuck, disengenuous, presumptive and worse.

With the South Carolina's momentum, I do not understand why someone would choose Maryland over South Carolina. Yet, I am biased towards the Gamecocks and the SEC. As disappointing as it is to see a highly ranked recruit flip to another school, most of us are pleased when these young men flip to our favorite school. It is hard to praise on young man when he flips to South Carolina and criticize another athlete when he flips to different team.

Under Armour NIL, most likely.

There's more on Twitter about this but it contains info from the Insiders forum so I won't post the screenshot here, but it sounds like "someone" from the Barham camp called Beamer 10 minutes after the announcement and said it was part of a 'plan' and that he was really committing to MD.

Meanwhile supposedly Barham and his mom called Beamer LAST NIGHT and told him how thankful they were for the opportunity to come to SC.

If that's true those people are absolute trash.

Agreed. Let’s schedule Maryland in the next few years and run him over.

Maryland has now signed two classes in a row inside the Top 20, and last year's was a small class. That man up there is doing something that Maryland ain't used to doing.

It sure looks nil related, ie part of the plan! I just hope it’s not under armour related, that would be unethical! But this new cfb is definitely a money grab!

I get going where your heart is. Every student-athlete should do that. However, you do things the right way, you do it with class. You should respect the coaches that put time and effort into recruiting you. I have zero respect for the way this was handled by Barham and his mother. Just a low-class way of handling business.

Yeah it looks like it was all a ploy so MD could announce that they flipped him last minute. That's bad enough, but for the player AND mom to be on the phone with Coach Beamer late the night before thanking him for the opportunity and saying they found their home at SC takes it to a whole other level of scumbag. People like that deserve the worst things in life and I could go on but I'll stop right there.

Apparently MD pulled their post-signing video after Beamer's comments:

The part that is really bad in this is the Mother’s involvement. If this is the kind of things that he is raised to think are acceptable he’s not the kind of kid you want in your program. It’s one thing for a scummy recruiter to convince a dumb kid to do something like this but it’s a whole other ballgame when the parents are involved.

You're right! Some people don't give a $hit how they look, just so they're looked at!

$$$ under the table.
Well, they are now in a league that is never lower than the second toughest in the country - some years the toughest. They're tired of not competing and evidently have taken steps. NIL opportunities should abound in the D.C. area, plus Maryland is a big school with a lot of living alumni.

The days of Gil Thorp are loooong gone; never underestimate people’s inclination towards boorish and underhanded behavior.

There was a D lineman recruit back in the day, not Haynesworth but pretty sure the guy was an instate recruit. The guy had been on at least the main gamecock forum I was following at the time for a week or so before NSD, telling everyone to make sure they live streamed his announcement on signing day, it would be good, make them happy. When it was time for the announcement, everyone but him in place, “Rocky Top” blared over the PA, the douchebag came running out in UT gear, and pronounced what an honor it was to commit to Tennessee.
