Muschamp speaking with the media starting at 12:30 p.m. over Zoom. We'll have updates here for everyone to enjoy as he moves on from Florida and previews Vanderbilt.

Updates will be in this post, so all you have to do is refresh.

--Team had one of its better practices of the season today. Need that to continue this week before they head to Vanderbilt.

--Last week with Izzy Mukuamu, said they played him at safety in large part to limit his running. He'll play corner this week since he's closer to 100 percent.

--Todd Fitch is Vandy's offensive coordinator and does a little bit both with pro style and spread offenses. Has done a little bit of both. They've done some different 12 personnel and are multiple there. That causes a lot of match up problems. Vandy has a few good players. They do some really good things offensively that can pose some issues.

--Has given up way too many explosive plays in the secondary. They've done back and re-evaluated all of those since the Florida game. Some of those were just the offense executing well but a lot of those are mental mistakes ore getting beat in coverage and those kinds of plays can be corrected. Have to do a better job in 50-50 balls of getting the ball on the ground.

--Asked about turning the page and taking the next step, it's about cleaning up some of the mental mistakes. Said 10 explosive plays against Tennessee is a positive. That's created some opportunities and they need to get better as limiting them. Offensively, they need to stay in rhythm and stay on the field on third downs.

--Players really brought the "energy and juice" in practice today and the coaches didn't need to, and that was a positive.

--Muschamp asked about the final drive again, said the operation needed to be faster. Gives the same answer again he did on Saturday and Sunday. Said when it got under three minutes, they knew an onside kick was probably going to happen because Dan Mullen was probably going to try and be aggressive play caller.

--Team is rotating John Dixon and Israel Mukuamu as the starting cornerback. They think John Dixon has played really well. They'll make a decision on who starts there later in the week. Mukuamu is taking reps at safety this week as well.

--Asked about Shi Smith, said it's him knowing his role going into each and every game as the No. 1 guy and knowing he's going to get targeted a lot. His talent wasn't question, consistency was, and he's answered the bell in both games so far this year.

--Muschamp said how they approach clock management from a week to week. Said they always end Wednesday's practice with a one-minute drill.

--Asking about more explosive plays offensively, said they had a few called designed to go downfield, but didn't execute. Said he was proud of sustaining drives against Florida, which is hard for any team to do in the SEC.

--Asked about what Jahmar Brown can bring to a team, said him being so athletic allows South Carolina to mix coverages a little.

--Talks with Ray Tanner and Tanner's been nothing but supportive in their conversations.

--Said in terms of Rick Sandidge not playing, said they felt like Jabari Ellis, Keir Thomas and Zacch Picks gives them a better chance at rushing the passer. Xavier Legette tweaked his hamstring, which is why he didn't play in the second half.

--Both Tonka Hemingway and Jordan Burch are going to play more. They're incredibly talented but they're also smart and have absorbed the defense quickly.

--Playing in empty or near-empty stadiums is not really noticeable once the game starts. Said once the ball is kicked, football is football.

--Ted Roof, Vandy's DC, was at App State last year. They played a lot of three-down against them. Has a lot of experience and is a good coach.

--With rain in the forecast Saturday, Gamecocks will practice with a wet ball tomorrow and Thursday.

That's a wrap.
