First off, congratulations to Mooney he definitely deserved the honor. But, remember he was injured the last few weeks that has more to do with why he was out of the lineup not because Chad thought he wasn't the best option.

Of course he couldnt play when he was injured. I'm talking PRIOR to his injury, when Holbrook was insistent on running Gore out there.

You’re right, Gore did play the majority of the games earlier in the year but I believe that had more to do with trying to find players in that could generate some offense. Once Mooney was inserted into the lineup it was his position until he was injured, no matter how well or bad he swung the bat.
