All of that has now changed.
Starting this year, the university will actually be paying players. They say it will cost them about $20 million, but no word on how much each player will get. And the "better" players will still have NIL added to that stipend.
So many questions we will never know because of privacy law.
Sadly, I now know how SC plans to come up with the $20 million. The fee for my season seats went up $200 ea. There are several other seats that cost a lot more than mine, so they probably have even higher fees. I suppose Baseball and Basketball all went up too.
I love amateur football and I especially love going to Gamecock football at Willy B. But thanks to college kids demanding to be paid like the pros, it is getting hard for my budget to keep up.
