OT: 11 Bitcoin ETFs Approved by SEC.

If you enjoy being reckless with your money you can either go to Vegas or buy crypto.

How's life going living under that rock? Below is probably the most powerful individual in the world discussing just today how the financial world is about to be re-written.

But you stay bearish. You wear it well.

You could be right. At this moment, I hold only one crypto stock. It was up over 20% today. I suppose I could sell it. But I expect it to increase nearly 4x by the end of this year. Of course, I could be wrong. Time will tell.

If you're using the market like a casino, there is need for caution just like there would be with any stock or commodity in any short term position.

Otherwise, there's been no better asset performer over longer term timeframes than Bitcoin during the past decade.

If you are in the right sectors, you can make life-changing money. Have a plan and execute it. It's no different than getting ready for a football opponent.

Learned about Bitcoin from reading this thread. Really didn't know much about it.
Thank you to Ward Jr. for starting it. I think he took some unwarranted slams from some for doing so in the beginning. That's life. As one who used to regulate the sales of investment products, advisers, brokers, etc. in the state, investing is of interest to me, actually a hobby. Bitcoin, though, was after my time. Regardless, I can read charts, history, understand "risk/return", etc.

Everything about this administration is incredibly rigged against everyday Americans.

Let's see how Bitcoin responds over the next two years as it's a proxy for US Dollar manipulation.

Agree with you on the corrupt Biden Administration. The more they hate fossil fuels the more my Exxon stock goes up. The more they hate guns the more people buy guns.

ETH ETF odds just received a big bump because it's an election year and the Democrats have taken a big hit from trying to kill crypto. Which asks the question - Why would one party be hell bent on killing a cutting edge technology that now over 100 million Americans own? They are receiving every penny of tax income and have even KYCed the overseas DEX exchanges. Answer -- Because they can't manipulate/debase Bitcoin and the others. Pretty telling.

It's honestly impressive how quickly conversatives can switch sides of an argument.

A few years ago the roaring stock market was proof that Trump was a great president. The stock market is now even higher under Biden, and he's supposedly terrible.

You honestly don't see the issue of complaining about the dollar when your only effective way to spend bitcoin is by converting it to dollars?

The stock market is only one metric of how the economy is doing and it's being influenced greatly by all of the money printing. Trump had economic indicators up across the board because he was investing in America. Biden has done little to nothing to invest in America during his term. It's all been shipped overseas to enrich contractors.

Biden is supposedly terrible? Do you think he's been a good president? Going to vote for him again? Interesting.

I predict Trump will win.

The Trump populist wing has taken over the Republican party from the conservative Reagan wing . I'm old enough to remember the Republican party being dominated by the "Eisenhowers" of the GOP (except for a brief period in the mid-60s) in my lifetime. Then the conservative Reaganites took over in 1980, and in essence, dominated the party for nearly 40 years. Now it's a totally different party. I'm not a political scientist. But I am a student of politics. It's interesting to me to see how/where the Republican party has evolved in my lifetime (starting when Robert Taft was a conservative force in the 1950s). If by chance I'm wrong about Trump winning in November (I won't be wrong), we will see the Trump wing and the 'Never Trumpers" going at it to get control of the GOP. That's boring to most here. But, it's interesting to me.

I am an investor (as indicated by my handle). The SEC asked exchanges to accelerate 19B-4 filings. Ethereum spot ETFs are coming. I have invested in ethereum in the past. I'm not sure I would at this moment. Right now, I'm in bitcoin (around 5% of my portfolio).

Today's republican party is conservative only in comparison to democrats. The current republican party has failed what used to be the conservative base.

Of course. Trump had everything going so well and was built on a solid foundation. That's why it crashed down to low...

It crashed when COVID hit and the economy got shut down. Otherwise, Biden's money printing his entire term would have had the market artificially sky high. No one would have cared about inflation except for the 50% of Americans would weren't in the market as a hedge.

When you're printing money and sending it overseas along with taxpayer income, all it does is crush the middle and lower classes and it's done just that.

The Biden Administration is trying to quietly push through CBDCs. This would be a disaster as it would allow them to also "tax" your bank accounts directly with things like carbon credits as a bandaid for their reckless spending. Good to see an resistance effort in Congress.

In CA, Newsom is trying to tax electric vehicles based on the miles they drive. This is another crazy example of something that would gel with CBDCs.

Why shouldn't people who use roads help contribute to the maintenance of those roads?

What makes you believe they aren't? CA residents are the most taxed in the US and the state is a disaster under Newsom. In San Diego County, residents pay up to 68% of their income to that disaster.

El Salvador's President is a rock star. He's totally turned that country around with common sense, transparency, and far less bureaucracy.

Because 80% of roads are funded through the gas tax in California.

Is that directly from Newsom's Comptroller? It doesn't matter how they allocate the money they collect. The point is that they are taxing their residents at obscene levels in comparison to the rest of the country.

Don't sell people on the virtues of an EV and all of the cost savings, only to backend them with a tax when a large % of the population buys into the lie. This is a big part of the issue with progressive thinking. They can't connect the dots on the backend and realize they've been had. And they certainly are incapable of critical thinking on the frontend.

You don't believe that the State of California knew they were going to take a hit in gas tax revenue before they started pushing EVs down everyone's throat? Of course they did. But you are here to obliviously give them a pass for their latest bait-and-switch.

lol so you admit it's fair to tax them but are finding some other excuse to be upset about it?
