OT: Fragrance Lovers

Anybody else a huge fragrance aficionado? I've worn fragrances off and on throughout my life without much thought about the differences between them, but over the past two years I've really taken a deep dive into the world of fragrances, specifically colognes but also some perfumes (for the wife). As we roll through spring and into the summer, what are some of your favorite go to scents for the season? Just picked up a few decants of designer and niche scents for the spring season that could also work for summer, but a few not intended for high heat.

- Costa Azzurra by Tom Ford
- Artisan Blu by John Varvatos
- Aoud Lemon Mint by Mancera
- Un Jardin Sur Le Nil by Hermes
- Uomo Acqua by Valentino
- Wood Neroli by Bvulgari
- Eau Tres Fraiche by Hermes
- Stronger with You Freeze by Armani
Creed - Aventus
Parfume de Marly - Leyton
YSL- La Nui de l’Homme

I'm 47. When I was in high school, it was all about RL Polo for the guys. College it was Drakar and Tommy.
As I've gotten older, colognes really aren't "it" where a man is concerned.

Smalls has started checking out cologne when he goes to Ulta with me. I smell most of them, and I just don't like a lot of them. Although, Polo is still the most classic fragrance out there for men, IMO.

Now...a glove leather or baseball leather cologne? YES!!!!!! 😄
I’ve always thought Polo was the best and most classic. More recently Aqua Di Gio and Polo Red.

We currently have threads on Car Rentals, Chicken Shortage, Knee Replacement, Melinda Gates divorce, and Most White Trash moments, but this is the one that surprises you ? 😆
Yes, but only because it’s the least likely for a male to post and this board is mostly male (or at least I think it is).

I prefer a good artisan soap these days. Bay rum, almond cream are a few faves. If I had to pick a cologne, anything by Armani does the trick.

Pro tip: if people across the room can ID your cologne, you are wearing too much.

True....never want to be that guy who chokes a m'fer out.

BTW, the price of colognes has gotten outrageous! It costs way to much to buy some.....just to try.

Try some decants from these websites. I usually go for the 10 or 8 ML decants so I can wear them for a few weeks to see if I like them. If you do like them, try going on a discount site to see if they have the full bottle fragrance you're looking for.

Come on man. Step up your game.
Men's fragrance revenue is in the billions. so obviously there are many men taking the plunge. Why not share what some of your favorites are ?

Metrosexual city...smh...winter, spring, summer and fall cologne. Who the hell come up with that crap? Lol Damn the testosterone levels in society really are declining.

I wear Hugo Boss...have for years. But I’m just not into having conversations about it.

Good stuff. Step it up and try these others by Hugo Boss for the fall and winter - Boss Bottled Intense and The Scent-Private Accord

And for the summer Boss Bottled Tonic and Boss Bottled Unlimited.

All of these are pretty cheap buys on Frangrancenet.com

Check out Knize10 from lucky scent. It has your leather scent.

Went to Nice, France two years ago and while there I took my wife to the Molinard perfumery in Grasse, France. I scheduled a two-hour session for the two of us to develop our own personalized fragrances from their over 125 individual fragrances. During the session we learned the techniques of developing a single fragrance from the individual fragrances, to include the proper amounts for balance. My wife now has her own customized perfume and I have my own personalized cologne. We both have a certificate that has the recipe for our personalized fragrances. They are on file at the perfumery and we can reorder at any time, which we have done several times. If in Nice, I highly recommend going to the Molinard perfumery in Grasse.
