OT: Why are they tearing down the Knights Stadium in Fort Mill? I know . .

The baseball team is/has moved to a new stadium in downtown Charlotte, but why demolish the 'old' stadium, which is not old? What, if anything, will replace the baseball stadium?

I hope your not serious, old wise one.

That land is worth a small fortune to York County if they develop it in the proper manner. Think taxes.

I hate to see it go too. I have a lot of fond memories there...a lot of afternoons watching 3A ball and a lot of good major leaguers play there. But Fort Mill's population is projected to triple in the next 5-7 years.
 
That makes sense. That land must be worth a fortune - great location for commercial or maybe even residential development.
 
Some company bought the land and auctioned off the equipment last spring.
Many colleges would have loved to move it to their campus.
