Recruiting

And Beamer took over a 2 win team in the midst of a pandemic, could not even bring kids on campus until a few weeks ago and has gotten EIGHT commitments in the past week alone. The situations are not even comparable on any level and if recruiting improvement is what you want, after the week we are having, why are you still whining and bitching in every recruiting thread? If that is what your morive truly was, you should be celebrating recent success not condemning the quality of kids committing to us when you know nothing about them. ALL you ever do is trash our team, players and coaches. That is not beneficial to the recruiting efforts in any way.
You can't keep using the pandemic as an excuse, when it literally affects every single team. It's not something that's unique to Shane Beamer and staff.

No it was literally him asking for one team and I gave two.

that’s literally what happened, he was objectively wrong
You win, congrats. I hope that gives you hope that we will make it, however let me give you a history lesson. Look at our overall record, look at our conference record and look at our recruiting rankings. Don't get your hopes up too high!

What shows no merit is instead of admitting you were wrong when it’s 100% factual you were , you instead change your criteria
Let me make my overall point clearer so you will understand it, we are a middle of the road program with no chance of making the playoffs being in the SEC unless our recruiting drastically improves and stays in the top ten nationally. That's my point, now go argue it however you please but our record is what it is, as is our historical performance.

It's pretty obvious you still don't understand what he was actually arguing or you're just intentionally ignoring the part of his argument with merit.

So you’ll acknowledge that things don’t happen overnight but you don’t want to wait any longer than overnight.
Another strawman.

I’m willing to wait, but you guys keep proclaiming success when it looks like more of the same.

But you’re not willing to wait if your only definition of success is a class full of 4 and 5 star guys. Recovering from the Muschamp/Tanner debacle isn’t going to be instant.

The schools that finish in the top 5 are for the most part in the playoffs. Bama, OSU, taters, OU. If you ask me there isnt much difference in the #15 class and the #35 class. Those classes are full of 3 stars and low 4 stars. It's up to the coaches to develop the talent.

It isn’t going to possible if we can’t improve the talent on the roster.

I’m not sure why you guys keep ignoring that reality.

If we’re still in the same boat two years from now it’s a valid concern. It’s just not where we are today.

How to define success? Be the best team and program in the state for which we are the flagship university. We have the largest student population, largest alumni base and largest revenue in the state, no excuse we aren't!!

Whatever, we will never know but you could not have left them out after their season. What sucks is they figured out what we haven't and they are kicking our ass in recruiting and it isn't even close.
Yeah, they pay players under the table and have an easy schedule. Why anyone on this forum expects a 2-8 team to compete in recruiting for players against a playoff team is beyond me. We will need a few years under the new staff for that.

A few years, they recruit nationally now so unless we start showing up in the CFP, we aren't going to be recruiting the same type of players, that's just a fact that sucks!

Finally a rational post on this matter.

If you want to argue you believe the recruiting will get better over the next two years, go for it. But you can't with a straight face say the current recruiting class is where you want us to be.

No but I’m also not going to complain about them not recruiting on the level of Alabama after what we went through under Muschamp.

Quit with the strawman arguments. I'm asking him to recruit as well as a Muschamp led South Carolina. Is that too much to ask?

Muschamp was able to get some 4-5 stars but our depth sucks. He went for flash and our record shows it. Beamer is trying to address the biggest needs first.

Our depth sucked because we filled out the classes with camp evaluations. Now we are filling up the entire class with camp evaluations.

No, our depth sucked because Muschamp was a poor HC. You need to take a break. Every single post is negative, a strange way of showing you’re a fan.

So you can't be a fan if you state facts, our program has been terrible now for several years. Until we actually turn that around with real results in wins, not sunshine speculation alone, then you can worry about negative posts. No need to sugar coat everything, the results are what they are, pointing that out doesn't make you less of a fan!

After Muschamp signed his extension and buyout with Ray Tanner, I really believe in my heart he only gave a shit about getting the buyout money. But that is just me.

This is easy to say, but Muschamp worked extremely hard. As evidenced by the fact that players and recruits loved him. He was on pace for a top 25 class even while on pace for a 2-8 season last year.

His issue was that he just wasn't very good at hiring assistant coaches and he wasn't good at holding those coaches accountable. He went down with the ship instead of making the hard decisions to fix the problems.

He went down with the ship with $15 million in his back pocket.

So your only version of success for usc atm is to be the number one team in the nation?

seems realistic
