Hey teacher,Mexico is in the southBoth Texas and Oklahoma are widely considered apart of the South
Now that there is funny as heck I don't care who you are!
If they played the correct type of football they would have already been invited to joinHey teacher,Mexico is in the south
What ?Both Texas and Oklahoma are widely considered apart of the South
Now that there is funny as heck I don't care who you are!
MOST of Texas is east of N. Mexico. It’s east of N. Mexico and Arizona
“If I owned property in W Texas and in Hell, I’d lease the property in W Texas and live in Hell.”MOST of Texas is east of N. Mexico.
By contract they would have to forfeit all primary and secondary TV rights until 2025. In addition it's reported that the penalty to leave the Big 12 is somewhere in the 76 million per school. Those two factors leave a lot of money on the table. There is no way , they will be added to the SEC in weeks.
F*** Sherman“If I owned property in W Texas and in Hell, I’d lease the property in W Texas and live in Hell.”

Sounds even more dubious when OU and OSU have been joined at the hip since all this began in the 1990s. I simply don't see any way for one to leave without the other in tow.By contract they would have to forfeit all primary and secondary TV rights until 2025. In addition it's reported that the penalty to leave the Big 12 is somewhere in the 76 million per school. Those two factors leave a lot of money on the table.
So the "in weeks" does sound dubious.
According to ESPN it is being reported that it could be within weeks. I'm not saying that but again that is being reported. There is no way , they will be added to the SEC in weeks.
There could be an announcement in the next few weeks. but I do not think that Texas and Oklahoma will compete in the SEC until the 2024 season.By contract they would have to forfeit all primary and secondary TV rights until 2025. In addition it's reported that the penalty to leave the Big 12 is somewhere in the 76 million per school. Those two factors leave a lot of money on the table.

And it was Philip Sheridan by the way, not Sherman.“If I owned property in W Texas and in Hell, I’d lease the property in W Texas and live in Hell.”
W. T. Sherman
Thanks!! I knew it was one of them! And it was Philip Sheridan by the way, not Sherman.
I was born in Greenville when my dad (USC grad) was stationed at Donaldson AFB. I was born within 3 days of being 9 months after my parents were married. After 6 weeks mom and I took a train to San Angelo (where they met while he was stationed there) and lived with Grandma. Then moved to Odessa when he left the AF. Lived there until the 3rd grade so the desert is all I had ever known until then. I think it's God's country. Thanks!! I knew it was one of them!
Watch the SEC just move to an abbreviation instead of southeastern conference.South? Yes. Southeast? Not so much.
Why would they change? Texas A&M and Missouri has been in the conference roughly ten years now. Those two schools are likely not what i call being located in the Southeast.Watch the SEC just move to an abbreviation instead of southeastern conference.
It only has to make sense to the people doing it.This may happen, but based on everything that was said and we learned after the last expansion this whole scenario simply does not make sense.
I understand that. But I also remember the attitude of UT toward the SEC as opposed to the PAC-12 or the B1G. And also remember that OU couldn't make any move without OSU. And the SEC wanted UT and OU bad during that last expansion...heck, UT even made some overtures to the ACC over the SEC. This is why I wonder what is Texas REALLY planning? It only has to make sense to the people doing it.
It's a done deal. The fact that Sankey hasn't denied it, or even made a comment at all, tells it all.I understand that. I don't doubt that as far as the SEC is concerned it is a done deal. But until Texas has put its wet signature on it.........It's a done deal. The fact that Sankey hasn't denied it, or even made a comment at all, tells it all.
The rumor is that ESPN will help pay the $76 Million buy-out. And, before anyone flips out. It would really be ESPN buying TX and OK from FoxSports. Looked at from that perspective it makes sense for ESPN to pay out that cash.By contract they would have to forfeit all primary and secondary TV rights until 2025. In addition it's reported that the penalty to leave the Big 12 is somewhere in the 76 million per school. Those two factors leave a lot of money on the table.

Texas maybe Oklahoma not so muchBoth Texas and Oklahoma are widely considered apart of the South
You think we have a hard time getting players now if we leave the SEC might as well join the conference Coastal is in because 3 star players would be our top guys with mostly 2 star guys. I know with good recruiting we can compete Spurrier proved that. Clemson has taken a lot from us they damn sure can’t have our spot in the SEC too.I think a good move would be for Clemson, Fla State, and Miami to move to the SEC and then have SC, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt move to the ACC.
Play offHow will they determine who will play in the SEC championship game with that purposed conference format?
They're planning to take their last good chance of ever aligning with the top all-sports conference in America. They're also planning on helping to make it even more lucrative than it is - to benefit themselves. If you're looking for a Trojan Horse, I don't think you're going to find one.I understand that. But I also remember the attitude of UT toward the SEC as opposed to the PAC-12 or the B1G. And also remember that OU couldn't make any move without OSU. And why not? What have we done on our own to discourage that? Remember, more than anything else, this is football driving this development. It seems a disturbingly large number of our fan base are really just fans of the SEC.
We're Gamecock fans in the SEC.It seems a disturbingly large number of our fan base are really just fans of the SEC.
You could be right, but my problem with that is while we were beating them 5 in a row, Clemson with the exception of a year or two was recruiting equal to or better than we were. And if it weren't for the unprecedented run of talent in SC during that period, they would have outrecruited us every year. Clemson wasn't selling the conference, they were selling their wins and winning the conference they were in and getting to the bigger bowl games. You think we have a hard time getting players now if we leave the SEC might as well join the conference Coastal is in because 3 star players would be our top guys with mostly 2 star guys. I understand that but if this happens this “super conference “ all the good players are going to want to be in it because more than just championships the NIL money this is also going to bring. When the video games come out which teams are more likely represented The super conference and then everyone else. One has to look at the big picture to see it would be a terrible move to get out nowYou could be right, but my problem with that is while we were beating them 5 in a row, Clemson with the exception of a year or two was recruiting equal to or better than we were. Yeah....I am really not liking that NIL crap at all.I understand that but if this happens this “super conference “ all the good players are going to want to be in it because more than just championships the NIL money this is also going to bring. No, that would be a horrible move.I think a good move would be for Clemson, Fla State, and Miami to move to the SEC and then have SC, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt move to the ACC.
