I am as well. I see some projects underway, but the need is great and we are decades behind.Infrastructure needs are great in South Carolina. I'm fine with adding the 2 cents.

The road beside my house is today better than it has ever been since I lived in my current residence. I moved there in March of 1979.The South Carolina road system is a national joke. We are where we are because idiot voters keep voting in trash politicians who are only concerned with lining their own pockets. It would be nice to have decent roads to drive on in this state but it will never happen. Just accept it.
Congrats. That certainly isn't the case for the vast majority. The road beside my house is today better than it has ever been since I lived in my current residence. I moved there in March of 1979.
That's the problem sometime ago road maintenance got shut down and the big question from all of us, where the heck did the money go? Our main and secondary roads are a helter skelter mess. One big series of terrible patches. Talk about needing an investigation. Some people are just happy throwing more money from taxpayers into the abyss.I am as well. This state spends less per mile on our highway system than the majority of other state by some distance. We are sorely lacking in basic road maintenance and people keep voting for a governor who sounds like he is from the 1800's.That's the problem sometime ago road maintenance got shut down and the big question from all of us, where the heck did the money go? I'm certain they don't have political issues with roads anyplace else? The truth is that the states that spend the most have the best roads, and I'd venture to say that none of those states tax gasoline as little or less as we have. Pounding your chest because you pay less taxes while the most depreciable item everyone owns is a vehicle is pretty asinine.I'm certain they don't have political issues with roads anyplace else? It's not just you, Bubba.I don't know about you guys, but in my travels outside the state, it's VERY obvious to me how awful our state compares to other states regarding roads, highways, median maintenance, scenic attractiveness and the like. Maybe it should not matter to me one bit. However, as someone born, raised and still living in the state, it's kind of embarrassing. But, that's me.
I completely agree.Pounding your chest because you pay less taxes while the most depreciable item everyone owns is a vehicle is pretty asinine.
There's the problem about American construction in general. I'm a construction estimator. Actually turning in a bid next week involving SCDOT. Many places in Europe and around the world will take the middle bid. That makes you as an estimator do a bid the correct way.Dang! Just like everything else the state does, I’m sure it’s low-bid….
It's always just a few cents here, a few dollars there. But they add up. Most people have no idea how much of their income goes to taxes. These taxes almost never get repealed and they're still always looking for another source of revenue to fix the roads. Expect another tax somewhere down the road to fix what this tax failed to.Yes gladly. For most cars it would be 36 cents or so. Once a week or so. If it went to road repaving only it would be worth it.
Whatever. I see roads getting fixed and I see that many more need to be fixed. Gasoline taxes will go further to address the issue than speculative contention over what the lawmakers do. Or, we could continue near the bottom of revenue collected for roads so we can maintain our captious posturing. I think some people more greatly enjoy that anyway. It's always just a few cents here, a few dollars there. But they add up. Most people have no idea how much of their income goes to taxes. These clowns couldn't fix a cup of coffee. They'll just need more later.Whatever. I see roads getting fixed and I see that many more need to be fixed. Make no mistake, they aren't clowns. This is all by design. Follow the money and you'll find the folks involved are criminals. These clowns couldn't fix a cup of coffee. They'll just need more later.
It's a reverse wealth transferMake no mistake, they aren't clowns. This is all by design. Follow the money and you'll find the folks involved are criminals.
We in SC are what we vote for. If people in this state don't have the intelligence to stop the status quo, then don't bitch about it when you're damn near last in the country in any meaningful metric. It's a reverse wealth transfer
On the flip side, the roads are more than good enough for you to pack your sh!t up and ride out to one of those wonderful states you claim do everything so much better.
I'll gladly keep our roads and our Gub'ner rather than deal with those "wonderful" states with their high taxes, high crime, and overbearing, dictatorial hypocritical politicians that are more worried about pronouns and wokeness and than they are about real issues.
Make no mistake, they aren't clowns. This is all by design. Follow the money and you'll find the folks involved are criminals.
LoL. WTF are you talking about? I'm a libertarian, you are far more "woke" than I'll ever be. You seem comfortable with our state ranking damn near last in any appreciable metric. Congrats, you're a sheep. You've lost weight. Congrats.
But no, really. You should move to the west coast. Just make sure you use those nice roads to get to he stores before 6pm, since they have to close early due to the inability to control their democrats, I'm mean, criminals.
Might be practicing for bedtime

Liberal? Do you understand what a Libertarian is son? Jesus. Then why are you here? Amongst the "sheep"? Sorry. I'm not willing to fall for the liberal tax and spend stupidity for "state rankings".
What specific road has your panties in a wad?
Liberal? Do you understand what a Libertarian is son? Jesus.
That ^^^^^ is an ignorant comment. Just stop, you look like a fool.I understand that most people that claim to be libertarian are really just plain liberals. Or single issue voter potheads.

I certainly wouldn't want them to be excluded from your group of stupidity.Again,
Oh, add people that are too stupid to realize how voting works in the real world.
I certainly wouldn't want them to be excluded from your group of stupidity.
It's called integrity. Instead of being a party zealot why don't you try thinking for yourself for once.Nothing says stupid like voting for someone with 0.000% chance of winning. Me picking the lesser of 2 evils is way better than letting someone else picking the lesser of 2 evils while I cancel myself.
Fixed it for you. I mean, they are the actual definition of liberal, meaning they're all about individual liberties. Leave me alone and I'll leave you alone. What liberals have become today have little interest in actual liberty.I misunderstand that most people that claim to be libertarian are really just plain liberals. Or single issue voter potheads.

We do in VA. The intersection of 64 and 95 is legendarily bad because they wanted to force everyone who passed through into the toll booth that isn't even there anymore. And malfunction junction continues to malfunction for another decade or so.
Do other states have on and off ramps that crisscross?
What’s the alternative? It's always just a few cents here, a few dollars there. But they add up. Most people have no idea how much of their income goes to taxes. We have a few of those here too. I-64 at Zion's Crossroad (exit 136). My wife HATES it.Now the at peak exit…that’s going to be a doozy. A diverging diamond. Google that, or check it out on YouTube. Only 1 other like it in state. Fort mill off I-77 I believe.
Perhaps they could put the new state tax revenue they're getting on Internet purchases to work for this purpose. I don't know if that's legal without some official procedure to get it earmarked for roads. What’s the alternative?
How much revenue are we bringing through this?Perhaps they could put the new state tax revenue they're getting on Internet purchases to work for this purpose. I don't know if that's legal without some official procedure to get it earmarked for roads.
