Scottie Pippen...

Jerry Krause was the GM. Hated by most of the players, Phil Jackson and the city of Chicago. He screwed Pippen but Pippen made the choice to stay. I am sure if he had a do-over, he would have left.

He is mad because Jordan was Batman and he was always Robin. And whyyyyyyyyyy he is accusing Phil Jackson of being racist- but gives no details!?!?

Scottie Pippen is trippin’!!!!!

Scottie is promoting a book and scorching everyone right now. Scorched Michael and Kevin Durant in a recent GQ interview. Got in a Twitter beef with Stephen A Smith during a show of First Take. All while promoting a brand of bourbon that he is trying to sell. I think he is looking at it that attention, whether positive or negative, is a good thing.

I didn't know about the bourbon. I looked it up and it's $70 for a 5-year aged bourbon. That stuff better be good - it's a crowded market right now. But I tend to agree with his possible outlook - all attention is positive at this point. If he doesn't say something outrageous, I never know about his bourbon or book.

I agree that Pippen comes off as a douche. But he was the 5th overall pick in his draft, so it’s not like he was chopped liver. Those Bulls teams weren’t one man teams like everybody makes out. Yes, Jordan was the greatest ever, but it didn’t hurt that they had the greatest rebounder ever (Rodman) and one of the greatest Forwards ever (Pippen).

In every category one can bring up, Jordan is definitely NOT the "GOAT". Not in single-player dominance, not in total championships, not in taking down all-time great teams as opponents.

Jordan was the beneficiary of being the greatest of the also-rans that were left from the decline of several "one of the all-time greats" franchises that dominated the late 1970s through the 1980s. The Dr. J 76ers, the Magic Lakers, the Bird Celtics.

Even the Thomas Pistons - who were 4th out of those total 4 teams - came before Jordan's Bulls rose to greatness. But the Pistons weren't built to compete against Jordan's Bulls, because Jordan's Bulls came out of nowhere, AFTER the Pistons rose up. They were built to compete against the 76ers, Lakers, and Celtics.

The Pistons were younger than the 76ers, but they weren't THAT much younger than the Lakers and Celtics. Isiah was a childhood friend of Magic - he and Aguirre were childhood buddies out of Detroit. Laimbeer was as old as Magic and Bird. Dantley, Edwards and Vinnie Johnson were older, were in the league before they came.

Jordan's Bulls were crap when he joined them, and stayed crap even as he started leading the league in scoring. Magic's rookie season with the Lakers, they won the NBA title. Bird's rookie season with the Celtics, they went from 29 wins to 61 wins his rookie year and fell in the eastern conference finals to Dr. J's 76ers.

In Jordan's rookie season, he led his Bulls from 27 wins the season prior to....38 wins. In Jordan's first three seasons his Bulls had losing seasons, and lost in the 1st RD of the playoffs with a total record of 1-9 in those series. In the middle season Jordan was lost for most of the regular season but returned to play all 3 playoff game versus Bird's Celtics, and led his Bulls in minutes per game and points per game. It was that series he had his 63-point game, but all he could do was lead his team to a sweep loss.

The idea of the "GREATEST OF ALL TIME", has always been - for team sports - to play against several "one of the all-time greats", and BEAT THEM ALL. If you could say you beat multiple "all-time greats", then you had a right to call yourself the "Greatest of all time".

The 76ers and Celtics beat up on each other in Bird's early years - Julius Erving was already a seasoned veteran by this time. He led his 76ers to the NBA finals in 1977 against Bill Walton's Trail Blazers, and Earvin Johnson's Lakers in 1980. The 76ers could argue that for a decade from the mid 1970s to mid 1980s they were the best team in the East, with 4 appearances in the NBA Finals.

The Lakers were pretty much the cream of the crop in the West, with an occasional stumble to the Houston Rockets that reached the Finals in 1981 and 1986. The Celtics beat those Rockets both times, but were 1-2 against the Lakers as well. The 76ers also were 1-2 against the Lakers. Those three great teams beat up on each other for most of a decade of basketball, winning titles and losing titles to each other. They were all among the "all-time greats".

Then they each began to decline. Abdul-Jabbar was already ancient and was nearing retirement, and Worthy dealt with injuries. Erving got old as well and was the first to retire - Bobby Jones as well, and Caldwell Jones and Mo Cheeks moved on to other teams, and Moses Malone Malone chased the dollar contract. The Celtics also declined - Parrish was a machine, but Bird, Johnson, and McHale started to break apart and retired.

And into this void stepped Michael Jo...........no, wait. Into this void stepped Isiah Thomas and his Pistons. They were ALWAYS #4 of this foursome of teams, if they were even included. But they weren't much younger than those others, so their time was very brief. They played in 3 straight NBA FInals, and won the final two: they TOO got to play the Magic Lakers, losing the first, then winning the last, of the last true Lakers team of the Magic Johnson Era.

But the Piston's days were numbered, even IF Jordan's Bulls hadn't come along. For that final Finals, they beat the Bulls in 6 games in the ECF Finals. Then the next season they lose in the ECF to the Bulls in 4 straight, and never really threatened. Then the next season after THAT, they get swept 3-0 to the NY Knicks in the 1st Round in Chuck Daley's final season as coach. And that was the end of the Isiah Thomas Era Pistons.

But at least they went 1-1 against the Magic Lakers, one of the last true "all-time greats".

So WHO DID MICHAEL JORDAN'S Bulls play? They played and beat a Magic Johnson Lakers team for their 1st title, but that was a Laker team in decline like all the other all-time greats. It was Magic's last season before retiring due to HIV. Abdul-Jabbar was already gone. So too was Pat Riley.

But the next 5 titles were won against the Drexler Trail Blazers, the Barkley Suns, the Payton Super Sonics, and the Stockton-to-Malone Jazz twice.

Were THOSE teams among the "all-time greats"?? HELL NO.

COMBINED, under those Eras, how many NBA titles did they win together?? ZERO.

And while Drexler's Trail Blazers made it to the Finals against the Piston's 2nd title, which of these teams made it back to the Finals post- Jordan?? ZERO.

Even in the middle of Jordan's 6 titles, when he took the better of two seasons off to dabble in baseball, did ANY of these teams reach the Finals? Nope, it was Olajuwon's Houston Rockets both times.

Jordan's Bulls played against a bunch of WANNABEs - the team in the West that always LOST to Magic's Lakers, when Magic's Lakers were still around. They were SCRUBs. PRETENDERS. They were NEVER among the "All-Time Greats".

But THEY were the opposition that Jordan's Bulls won their titles against. That's not worthy evidence of "Greatest Of All Time" declarations. Not by FAR......

I can honestly say I’ve never seen this much stupid in one post. You believe whatever you want. But it’s wrong and pretty much nobody who saw Jordan play would agree with you. But hey, there’s still people who try arguing that Brady isn’t the best QB ever even though he’s made the Super Bowl in 50% of his seasons, so common sense isn’t as common as many people think.

What's your password? sickoftryingtothinkofapasswordname

Jordan played against so much HOF talent at their peak (and in the absolute BEST era of the NBA) it’s ridiculous, and he was the best. But he really wasn’t the best because as a 23 year old, he couldn’t beat Bird, Chief, McHale, DJ, etc….by himself, even though he scored 63?!?! He is the best basketball player ever, he just couldn’t overcome Orlando Woolridge, and Dave Corzine, et al…..his first few years. No one could’ve. Not Magic. Not Bird.
