Apparently Coach Beamer was talking about players redshirting. You know the deal, they basically stopped playing after they have played in 4 games so they can get another year of eligibility! I always thought redshirting was up to the coaching staff, not the player!

I mean can a PLAYER decide that after playing in 4 games that he is going to redshirt so he can transfer to a different school and get another year of NIL? THAT’S ABSURD!! Redshirting is supposed to be used when players get hurt and haven’t played more than 4 games, or for new players who aren’t “ready” to play yet. Which Gamecock players are trying to SCAM the process and making Coach Beamer so mad? BTW, SCAM is my word not coach’s.

Kamara is the LB who supposedly requested a rwdshirt so he could transfer with another year.

Again, supposedly, when Beamer told him the plan was to use him more going forward, Kamara quit the team and will use a redahirt year to save a year of eligibility and transfer elsewhere.

UNBELIEVABLE!! Kamara is definitely not a TEAM player! He is SELFISH and doesn’t give a damn about anyone other than himself! I hope NO other team will be willing to sign him and pay him one cent of NIL! Or, even better, maybe a team will sign him and promise him the world and then renege on their promise! I mean, what could he say? He surely couldn’t complain about not getting something that was promised to him!

I mean, he signed here and promised to play for whatever he agreed to, in relation to his NIL, and has QUIT! There must be ramifications for his decisions! I’m tired of QUITTERS prospering.

Will the university give him his money for this year? Did he sign an agreement saying he’d have to play to get paid? How does it work?

PERHAPS??? He did not appreciate having his ass rubbed as encouragement. While I can appreciate ****** RIGHTS, I WILL PREFORMORE DENTAL REMOVALS AT NO CHASRGE!!~!

This NIL thing is getting out of hand, but some coaches refuse to play the game. Kim Mulkey just rescinded the LSU offer to the nation’s top womens basketball player after the girl demanded $1 Million to play for the Tigers. She’ll probably sign with Texas because they have huge deep pockets to pay that much.

Yep. It's about to get much worse too as school money will be able to directly flow through NIL collectives in 2025.

Just a lame-brained idea from the start and now it's going to be difficult to unwind.

Best we can hope for is capped spending but that still is going to leave many schools completely handicapped.

Just proof a free market doesn’t work.

So based on these comments as well as your shallow takes on economics, can we assume you're for socialism?

Aren’t we all? You pointed out the success of the NFL where they equally share tv revenue and give the first draft pick to the worst team in the league.

Watson, there are aspects of any country or organization that has socialist attributes. That's not the question I'm asking. :)

The socialist NFL system is a far cry from a free market.
Jeez Watson, have you ever read an economics book? The NFL operates on a Classical Liberalism economic system as described by Adam Smith and the Austrian School of economic philosophy. That model has a few basic rules for safeguarding the basic needs of all participants.

Lets get back on topic. Is Beamer red shirting or not? I got my hopes up reading this thread........

If the guy refused to play and then quit that has got to hurt his chance of getting picked by another school. He has no leverage in getting a decent NIL deal either. Lots of players that hit the portal are never signed by another team. They eliminated themselves from ever playing college football again and all the benefits that go with that.

They probably would sign with a FCS school after no FBS school wants them. Of course few FCS schools pay NIL money

I fully expect at some point that the bleeding-heart liberal crybabies try to pressure the NCAA to force team to take players back to bail on their teams and don't get picked up like they think they were.
