Sitting at the game last night, it amazes me how Chad NEVER once played common sense baseball. Never tried to lay down a bunt to move runners over. He sent guys in motion that were dead to rights had PSU catcher been able to throw the baseball in places other than centerfield or left we would have not scored two of our runs. With SEC play starting this week we better fix this quickly.

Also, our batters were getting the ball blown by them by a pitcher who was topping out at 84 on his fastball. If we can't catch up to that how are ŵe going to be able to handle 90+?

Listening to the bb game as I drove home from work last night, I heard that SC and LSU are tied for the most errors in the SEC in bb. I dont know if USC and LSU have played more games than other SEC teams, but that is concerning to me particularly with our lack of offense so far.

thought his running was good, until you prove u can toss them out.

w/ regards to speed. go no further than stu miller or tom glavine.

Or as a refresher, recall the rajun cajuns coming in here in regionals few yrs back. Not one of those pitchers could have broken a pane of glass, kept us off stride w/ breaking stuff

Michael Roth didn't throw it in the 90's mph, he managed to be effective.

The guy pitching for Penn state wasn't Michael Roth. If you look at our approaches at the plate, it has happened all year. Through six inning yesterday, we had struck out six times. That isn't going to cut it in SEC play.

We need help in quicker hands with the bat. Shorten up the swings.

Statistics show that giving away outs (i.e. bunts) is not effective. That's why the pros never bunt. They don't give the opponents free outs.

But, if you have to have a run, then you manufacture it any way you can in my opinion. It all depends on who is up in the batting order and who you have confidence in at the plate.

I would let Tanner English bunt all day, because it was usually for a hit with his speed. Unfortunately he is not in the lineup any more.

Too early to say. Michael Roth didn't emerge as an effective pitcher until Omaha in 2010, when he got ample opportunities to contribute. Until then, he ad been used a situational pitcher with limited innings.

Granted, I think we are all concerned about the hitting right now, with a pretty good Kentucky staff coming to town this weekend. Sometimes the players focus a little more against better competition, and hopefully that will the case against Kentucky. We've got a pretty good pitching staff ourselves.
