So as far as Satterfield, now what are your feelings?

If this were season one, I’d say give him another season. But, I don’t know, he just doesn’t seem consistent enough to me. 2.5 games that the offense was productive. Mayo Bowl, Tennessee, and part of Kentucky. Special Teams/Defense won A&M. I just don’t trust that he’s consistent enough.

Firing Satt after that performance would make us the joke of college football, and people would laugh even harder at the tired, worn-out retread or completely unknown project we would hire to replace him. Because that absolutely would be the best we would do. Anybody that thinks otherwise is just fooling themselves. How quickly we forget about the embarrassment of past coaching searches.

Maybe Kurt Roper is available.

CU's secondary is just as weak as the Vol's. Those two teams have had a suspect secondary all year. Very little difference in the two. Both's Achilles heels. Now we get to see whether we can come up with a plan to somehow counter the tater D Line... which is much better than UT's. If Satt can manage that and keep us somewhat productive, he would have built on last weekend's success imo. Win or lose.
Right now, our recievers and QB have some confidence they should be able to build on. The ball is in the O Line's court. And it might very well have Satt's future attached to it imo.
I like this, I easily understand everyone's anxiety I have waffled myself, but everytime I hear Satt speak I have to say I'm drawn in, I love his demeanor, I hope you heard his presser this week, he's no nonsense matter of fact and he knows his own situation and I have no doubt he is working his tail off to make the best offense it can be. I still say these next two games will make the decision for Shane and Satt knows it! Hell he might not want to be here anymore, who knows.

I've heard several of his press conferences,.

I don't think I've ever heard an offensive coordinator at south Carolina admit to questioning his own play-calling- even after the big win Saturday night as Satterfield does. He just doesn't try to cover it up. Even after such success Saturday night he's talking about calls he wishes he could do over again.

He readily admits where he made mistakes and doesn't just offer up hard to believe coach-speak platitudes.

For me, he's easy to like because he just admits where they went wrong so easily. Very refreshing and honest.

Clemson's defensive line is MUCH, MUCH better than Tennessee's. It's not even close. They can get a ton of pressure with 4 lineman.

Well one thing is for sure, we know this offense can score points. No excuses for this coming Saturday now.

Clemson's defense is much better than Tennessee's and the best one we've faced since we played Georgia.

Agreed. The UT game is the current shiny object to people, but we forget this offense was the joke of college football just a couple weeks ago. Openly mocked on gameday as "unwatchable".

Imo, Satterfield desperately needs a good game against Clemson to claim he's improving. If that great performance is sandwiched between two duds? Not convincing.

Got to get rattler going early with some easy quick throws to let the oline see
What they’re dealing with, mix it up a little much like ut, make first downs and stay on the field, they have some confidence, hope that continues!

As glorious as that Tennessee game was….its gonna be Ray and Beamers excuse to keep him.

It does not matter to me how the 2nd half of the clemson game and how the bowl game turns out. I say look at Satterfield's TOTAL record.

As Offensive Coordinator at Temple in 2013, his offense was ranked #76 out of 126 teams.
In 2014, his offense was ranked 120 out of 128 teams. In 2015, his offense was ranked #96 out of 128 teams.

In his first year as OC at South Carolina, his offense was ranked 110 out of 130 teams. Going into the Clemson game, his offense was ranked #77 out of 131 teams.

I don't buy for one single minute that we cannot do better at the OC position. Do any of you really think Marcus Satterfield is the best we can do?

We need a new Offensive Coordinator, a new Offensive Line coach and, possibly, a new Strength & Conditioning Coordinator.

Agree with others above. He’s absolutely earned another year. 2 of the best back-to-back weeks in Gamecock football history. If Rattler can avoid the bad picks, he could have a huge 2023.

Coach Satterfields guys put 31 points on a defense loaded w NFL players on the road. And probably shoulda been 38-42 total. Credit where its due!

If he keeps calling like these two weeks….i am in. I hope entire coaching staff stays in tact. Pay Justin Stepp big time
