You're right. Until recently, the coaches have had all the power and have made all the riches over the players that helped them get there. Now, the players have a little more say in where and when they play and people are trying to denigrate them for it.

Exactly right. Players have traditionally had no power at all in this system and frankly were exploited so that the power structure of conferences, tv networks, ADs and coaches could get rich. Now that the players are getting the smallest bit of power in the system, some fans dont like it. All we hear is its ruining college football. Well, ESPN and the coaches $10 million contracts are what started all this.

And OU fans may have wanted to see Lincoln Riley coach in their bowl game last night but that didnt happen either.

Sure do. But the sooner this world learns that everyone is not equal and everything is not fair, the better off we will be. We are talking about players. Coaches have nothing to do with this. Just like because a coach makes millions a player should make something. They are a student/athlete. Not an employee.

Your argument could also be used for why you should get over 2% of players opting out of bowl games.

Bowls don't mean anything anymore.

The Rose Bowl is just as significant as the Cheez-It bowl or the Cheetoh Bowl or Dorito Bowl these days.

With the CFP and expansion of it, Bowl games are the football equivalent of basketball's NIT tournament.
