SOS Year 2: 8-5 with a bowl win
Year 3: 6-6, no bowl. Multiple starters with injuries on defense.
Does this sound familiar on both accounts?
Boom, Year 2: 9-4 with a bowl win
Year 3: Going on 7-5 and winnable bowl. Multiple starters with injuries on defense.
SOS went on to go 7-6 back-to-back years before the 9-5 SEC East Champ season, followed by 11-2 x 3.
Moral of the story: Taking a step back by 1 to 2 games in year 3 of a total rebuild does not mea Will Muschamp isn't the guy at South Carolina. History shows that typically you have to give a coach a minimum of 5 years for a total rebuild.
Moving forward: The next step for Will to show he's turned the corner as an HC is to beat ranked opponents. Next season's schedule affords us a plethora of opportunities to do such. I'm so tired of "wait until next year", but it is what it is & ain't what it ain't at this point. Forever to thee.
