What happened to him this past year? I had high hopes.

Yeah this is weird, there hasn't been an update since October when he was away from the team for personal reasons. No timetable was given for his return, and after a couple weeks I think reporters stopped asking, maybe the info is behind a paywall. But then two weeks ago there was a video of him running routes and he looked healthy.

1. He's healthy, so he could've played in bowl game but he didn't
2. He's not in the portal, so if he wants to play he probably still wants to play with USC
3. He's still working out, so he is still interested in playing

So where does that leave us, idk.

This is truly an odd situation. The coaches kept saying personal reasons and then Beamer said he took him off the depth chart so people would stop asking and then people just stopped asking. I have looked around and all I can seem to find is some rumors of issues that would prohibit him from being able to rejoin the team/play possibly at any collegiate level. There doesn’t seem to be anything concrete from him or the school but he is still listed on the official roster so who knows.

It's fine. Sometimes guys figure that they may not be at the right place...or it's not the right fit. Wish him well - I'm sure he's a great young man.
