I am disappointed that our strongest presence under the hoop is 6' 5", but happy we have him. I love watching Carrera play. Sure wish he was the one who was 6' 11".

If Carrera were 6'9" or taller he would be a lottery pick. I haven't seen any big man in college basketball well maybe the guy from LSU that plays with his tenacity.

Lottery pick if 6.9...oooook

Well he's 6.5 and skill set of a good Southern Conference player.

Maybe a smart student.... but not a very smart basketball player, a lot of boneheaded mistakes

Yeah those boneheaded mistakes comes from him trying to change the momentum of games. He's a high energy player that gives taller guys fits on the boards. He has a pretty good jump shot, shoots over 70% from the free throw line. The guy also has good posts moves and can block shots at 6'5".

Offensive Liability? He had 17 points today. He was 5-12 from the field and 6-7 from the free throw line. Last but not least he had 9 rebounds. Doesn't sound like an offensive liability to me.

Don't understand some of the comments on this thread. I was there and

saw a young man take the team on his back at times, and, as someone said, try to change the flow of the game. And for a bit, we did pull back within 5 a couple of times. Just don't have that other big and another good shooter to be able to change out. At one point, with McKie in the dog house (or so it seemed), there were two on the bench out of warm-ups.

Carrera is a 38% shooter, averaging 5.4 points per game for the entire season. Today was a career best for him. My God, wake up please.

Today, he was the best we had. Just think when a player is trying hard

to help his team that "liability" is a bit harsh. But that's your opinion. And you are welcome to it.

Todd Lewis, Carerra's issues stem from him being an undersized post man. He tries to do too much. I can't see how a player can be an offensive liability if he just scored 17 points. At 6'5" he's a good role player that provides much needed energy off the bench. If he was a taller player with that same intensity he could be playing on the next level.

I agree with everything you just wrote. The problem is Carerra is a starter. He would make an outstanding second unit guy on a better team. But it what it is. It's definitely not his fault there aren't better post-players than him on this team.

I'll be glad when the "chicken with his head cut off" as FM would say...is gone. Not a good bball player.

Carrera fouled out tonight with 7 points (2-5 shooting)--both of which were slightly better than his season averages.

So he had a triple-single (single digits in points, rebounds, and fouls).

Carrera looks like the only one showing great effort. But Chat is hitting some shots, but just too slow. Frank Martin needs to show us something next year, IMO.

Carrera has the style of play of a PF or center. I agree that if he was 6'9'' or more he would be a draftable prospect. He is constantly getting rebounds or post ups under the basket, but he is just too short to get those shots off. Yes, if he was taller her would be our best player, but he is not and because he cant get a shot off on the post then he can be a liability at times. I love his heart though, he definitely does not give up or back down.

Give me 12 guys with his hustle and good things happen. Getting better every game. Limonis picking it up too.

Bama freshman, small forward was a better penetrator than anyone we have.
