I think the rule now is that an offensive player can push a ball carrier and not pull him. Some teams will put a lineman in the backfield to push the runner, or maybe it's ostensibly to push the pile. But some plays will end up being close to the banned flying wedge. I wonder how long before we see tackles pulling and forming the wedge as more of a set play.
