As bad of a job I think Ward did last year, I think he is a descent coach. He got lazy though, and it may be a product of his environment. I think a lot of coaches on the football team got lazy last year, and it reflected with the play of the players.
As far as Martin is concerned, I think he is a good coach, I just am not a fan of his style and approach. I think we will continue getting better the next few years with Frank, but count me in the group that feels our previous AD should have been kicked in the ass for not hiring Marshall.

Ward got lazy, and he was/is a bad coach. It was conclusively shown last year..That is why he is on his way out after this year and no one wants to hire him away. His solution was to go sit up in the press brox. lol. Not coaches are not all good whether some like to hear that or not.
Ward got lazy, sure, but SOS should have known: NEVER, EVER promote an employee who fits the mold of the the old 'Peter Principle'. Ward got promoted on the strength of the talent on the team, D & O, over the previous 3-4 seasons He got bumped up into the stratosphere, salary-wise, and then he sat and sat and sat. He KNEW he'd never go any further, so he took the $$$ and . . . relaxed. Waiting for 'The Man' to make his next move - which was to JUSTIFY Ward's awful performance across the board. Quite a mess isn't it?

Does anyone really believe that everyone is going to be in complete agreement on all the coaches and their performance? It's not going to happen....so let it go. That is part of being a fan. You are never satisfied......

What the hell does Kirby Smart have to do with anything? No one is talking about him. If the question is: Does Lorenzo Ward suck as Defensive Coordinator or not, than the answer is: OBVIOUSLY YES., The defense got worse every year under Ward. Ward said before last year he thought we were going to be improved, and yet it was maybe the worst SEC defense I have ever seen in my life. The guy has no idea what good defense looks like. He need to go to the press box to try to get a better view and still has no concept of why we sucked on defense. That means only one thing. the guy is as lost at coaching defense as his players are at playing it.
This is not bashing, this is getting to the hard truth of the matter.
