South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer will make several key final visits with remaining targets on Thursday leading into next week's early signing period.
As a reminder, Saturday is the final day that coaches can be on the road to see prospects and Sunday is the final day that prospects can visit schools. Then the dead period hits leading up to the beginning of the early signing period on Wednesday.
The Gamecocks will send a large contingent to see four-star EDGE target Jaishawn Barham today as Shane Beamer, Clayton White, Mike Peterson and Marcus Satterfield will all visit with Barham, who is set to announce his commitment at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Barham's finalists are South Carolina, Penn State, Maryland and Oklahoma.
Barham plays it closer to the vest than about any other prospect we've covered, but the buzz towards the end of this week looks very positive for the Gamecocks for the nation's No. 91 overall prospect.
Beamer and Satterfield are also set to go by the school of South Carolina quarterback commit Braden Davis as they check in on him before he signs with the Gamecocks next week.
Beamer and Satterfield will then meet up with running backs coach Montario Hardesty for an in-home visit with Virginia Tech four-star RB commit Ramon Brown as the Gamecocks attempt to make their final pitch with the playmaker, who has been largely silent since the coaching change at VT.
** Offensive line coach Greg Adkins is set to be in Georgia today where he'll check in on Lassiter, Kell, North Cobb, Kennesaw Mountain and ELCA before watching Trinity Christian vs. Prince Avenue in the Georgia Private 1A state championship tonight.
The Gamecocks have an offer out to North Cobb 2023 RB Benjamin Hall and ELCA 2023 three-stars OL Zechariah Owens and DB Colton Hood.
** South Carolina wide receivers coach Justin Stepp is scheduled to watch wide receiver commit Kylic Horton play basketball tonight.
** In addition to the Ramon Brown in-home, Montario Hardesty is scheduled to hit Trinity Episcopal, Collegiate, St. Christophers and Varina in Virginia.
** Tight ends coach Erik Kimrey is set to hit Charlotte today with stops scheduled for Charlotte Christian, Ardrey Kell, South Mecklenburg, Independence and Mallard Creek.
Charlotte Catholic 2024 TE Jack Larsen has emerged as a priority target for the Gamecocks in that class.
** Defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey will hit Georgia today with stops planned for Sandy Creek, Whitewater, Lovejoy and ELCA.
Lovejoy 2024 DT Michai Boireau has generated early buzz and Power 5 offers, so he could be one to keep an eye on.
** Torrian Gray is set for an in-home visit with four-star DB commit Emory Floyd tonight as part of a Georgia trip.
Earlier in the day, Gray is set to meet up with Adkins and Lindsey at ELCA and will also stop in at Carrollton, Central Carrollton, Hapeville Charter and Woodward Academy.
The Gamecocks already have an offer out to Central 2023 three-star ATH Vicari Swain and I'd bet Gray is at Hapeville to check up on 2023 three-star DB Derrick Maxey.
Woodward 2024 four-star LB Andrew Hines visited South Carolina during the season and 2023 four-star DE AJ Hoffler has a bunch of early offers to his name.
** South Carolina special teams coordinator Pete Lembo will be in North Carolina today where he'll check in on Eastern Alamance, Cummings, Western Alamance, Grimsley, Page and Northern Guilford.
Grimsley has a trio of Power 5 prospects to watch in 2024 WR Alex Taylor, 2024 ATH Terrell Anderson and 2023 three-star OL Jamaal Jarrett.
