USC was the last team this year to beat the Hawgs in Arkansas. That's both

good and bad. We can beat them but we are going to have to bring our "A" game, which we knew that regardless, but I didn't realize how good Arkansas actually is, especially at home. And yes I knew they were in the top 10 but that does not necessarily make them a top 10 team. For example, wasn't quempsum a top 10 team prior to the Regionals.

Sometimes you get lucky and get a 3 or 4 seed at this point. While someone will give the cliche “there are no easy games at this point” sometimes a heavy favorite picks a bad time to lose 2 games in a weekend like when we lost to Lafayette in the Supers. They’d never say it publically but there were a lot of teams in Omaha glad to see Lafayette instead of South Carolina. Yes Lafayette had to be good to beat us, but we were the better team that year. Just choked at the wrong time.

It’s baseball. Anything can happen. Arkansas will be a tough chore but not impossible. We definitely have a tougher route to Omaha than a few others. We can’t complain though. We got the regional most people wanted us in....except for those that wanted to be in the Duke regional!
