Game Story: WBB: Boston leads Gamecock Comeback

- There were technical issues with the postgame Zoom, so we weren't able to ask many questions.

- That was a huge win. It wasn't pretty, but LSU is a good team and couldn't miss early. I noted during the game that was how LSU started against Iowa State, and the Cyclones never recovered. South Carolina did, and did it despite a lot of adversity: on the road, foul trouble for Aliyah Boston, missing its top two reserves (LA and Cardoso), who are also the reserves that allow Staley to go to all the different looks South Carolina can present to create mismatches. Are there areas for improvement? Absolutely. But you can't get too picky about road wins over top-15 opponents.

- I'm going to reuse my joke from earlier: Aliyah Boston, you can't contain her, you can only hope for a couple of ticky-tack fouls to put her on the bench. The officials are the only thing that have slowed down Boston this season, and they've only done it when they call really iffy fouls.

-Destiny Littleton did not play, which was surprising given how the bench struggled. I couldn't ask about it, but I have to assume she wasn't available or she would have played.

- Tennessee now has sole possession of first place in the SEC, but South Carolina moves into a jumble for second. The Gamecocks still control their own destiny.

- She was overshadowed by Boston, but after shooting 1-7 in the first half, Destanni Henderson bounced back with 12 points in the second half.

- At halftime, you could see the game had already started to turn. LSU's shooting had come back to earth, and South Carolina was dominating the glass and getting to the foul line. At that point only the turnovers were keeping LSU ahead. South Carolina still finished with 21 turnovers, but only had 8 in the second half (2 in the fourth quarter), and the rebounding looked like a typo. LSU entered the game averaging 44 rebounds a game and +11 in differential. The Gamecocks outrebounded the Tigers 48-24. That's incredible.

- Areas for improvement: Turnovers, obviously. South Carolina was playing too fast in the first half. It's okay to save the possession instead of trying a behind the back lob for a layup. Free throw shooting. The score could have been a lot more comfortable if South Carolina is better than 18-32 from the line. Offensive efficiency: South Carolina was in control midway through the fourth, but made just one basket over the final 5 minutes. Now, a couple of the misses were point blank layups by Boston, which is the shot you want, and there were a lot of free throws, but they still allowed LSU to make it close.

- It took me all game to find the info: Dawn was wearing the Louis Vuitton Catogram collection. It looks like the top is no longer sold, but it was originally around $800. #itsgoodtobethequeen
