Columbia SC
1st quarter not pretty but winning
10 points
4 for 14 shooting
0 for 4 free throws
5 turnovers

And a five minute political statement.

I swear….can we watch one dang event without the social lectures. We are three minutes into the women’s game and they cut to the announcers who turned to this somber tone like someone had died. They start talking about honoring the LGBTQ community between the 3 and 315 mark so they are stopping to do that. We all know this is because there has been an uproar about the male swimmer who is now female and winning events by blowing away the field at the ncaa WOMEN’S championships. I can’t wait till the guys start dominating women’s basketball and let’s see how gung ho they are then.

I am thinking about declaring I am 10 and dominating the 10 and under local church league in basketball. Kumbaya

The irony of what she read off her network prepared statement is that she praised title 9. Title 9 is worthless if anyone identifying as female can participate in women's sports.
I will say that five minutes without the babbling was enjoyable actually

After watching the mens NCAA tourney games all weekend, then this, it quickly makes you realize why no-one cares about WBB. I watch because its SC, but even still it is painful to watch.

If both teams play really good defense then its a tough watch for sure.

Team is pressing. They just have to relax and play. If you miss a shot, it is okay. Passing up too many shots and driving into traffic because they are scared to shoot. Everyone is acting like they don’t want to be the one to mess this up. As a result, nothing is getting done. Teams have decided to pack the paint on Boston and dare us to shot. We will either make a few shots or eventually lose. It’s that simple folks.

This team plays so tight, which is why I have my doubts about them going the whole way. This is pretty much our only program that has to live up to expectations, though. Every other program we have is trying to exceed expectations.

Back to the original topic, Dawn & Co. punch the clock to another Sweet Sixteen.

If our shooting doesnt improve, especially from our guards, we arent gonna make it. And, of course, UConn and Stanford are hitting on all cylinders. Even in the Howard 58 pt. blowout we were 8 for 38 on 3 pointers. That is an alarming stat to me. No wonder Boston gets the hell beat out of her by 3-4 players everytime she touches the ball in the paint.

I know the supposed issue with Olivia is size and defense. However, I think we should give her a look at some minutes in the guts of the game if the only guard that will look at the rim is Destanni. Our starting guards have lost their confidence and they are now passing up wide open shots or driving into traffic because they won't shoot.

Three of those were made in garbage time by Olivia. So, those stats are worse when you just consider the rotation players.
