Does cuevas close her eyes and shoot underhanded when she drives for a layup? I think she focuses on trying to draw the foul rather than trying to make the actual shot.
this is true- been a while since I have seen a well officiated game. not one sided- just bad
62-56 Carolina. Final. SC had to grind out a tough defensive battle on the road. Deshields & A'ja both carried their teams. Solid win for our ladies. They clinch a share of the SEC regular season title for the 3rd straight year. Good job Lady G's!
A'ja wrapped up the SEC Player of the Year tonight, if there was any doubt. She simply can't be guarded from the free throw line in. Hopefully the transfers will help space the floor better next year to get her move room to work.
In fairness, they were terrible both ways. It's typical of women's basketball. You would think that they would occasionally have a good night, but they never do.

Considering the success of our team the last three years, you would think that we would have more pages in our game threads.
Bad Bianca. No question. We don't need to add an invisible Coates to the equation. Frankly, without Wilson we would be in big, big trouble. Somebody finally, and I mean finally, woke Mitchell up in the 4th quarter. Thank the Lord. I watch other top notch teams, and they are loaded with shooters. We aren't. Tina Roy can really shoot, but she seldom makes a contested shot (she made a couple tonight, to her credit). Plus, she's a defensive liability because of her lack of foot speed.
Bottom line. I want this team to prove me wrong, but I don't see them ever beating either Notre Dame or Connecticut. Ever. We are loaded with athletes, but they have more skilled basketball players.
I hope Dawn is recruiting to fill this obvious shortcoming of our team. Inside play can take us only so far.

A lot of "I'm not going to another a game as long as Holly Warlick is the coach" posts in the game thread.
Considering the success of our team the last three years, you would think that we would have more pages in our game threads.
It is peculiar.
Our internet presence is probably more fragmented as well. USC has a large site on both networks. On top of that, Carolina fans have multiple boards on each with official game threads. In the end, we probably have 4-5 different official game threads, whereas UT has the one site that has the bulk of their forum traffic. UConn is this way as well.Considering the success of our team the last three years, you would think that we would have more pages in our game threads.
Not to mention that theirs is basically a vent thread. And not just venting about 1 loss. They are pissed with the direction of their program and that Carolina has taken their spot atop the SEC. The dynasty that was the Pat Summitt era created not just high expectations, but an ownership. We've come in and taken it away while at the same time they've slipped.
They'll probably be better next season, and no, I'm not joking. The two guards that are on the bench this season score more than Mitchell and are more physically talented. Also, Dawn has 2 top-100 girls coming in already. Who knows who she'll sign after the season.
Do you disagree with anything I said about this year's team? I was posting about what has happened in recent games. If you think out outside game has been consistently great please explain, by all means.
