We are owned by KY....a program that has maxed out with two 8-win seasons

9 decent seasons out of the last 32 does not necessarily make USC a football power. Kentucky football has sucked for many years as well with a few years of better than average results. Both progranms are wannabe programs. USC beat KY several years in a row before we started with our 4 game win streak. I would say both fan bases have had reason to be pissed
Boy, you guys are really dropping some knowledge on us. 1st of all, where did Rod say we were a football power? He said our history is putrid.

Just remember this. South Carolina finished in the top 10 from '11-'13. In '13 we beat 3 teams that finished in the top 10(2 of which won BCS bowls) and we finished at #4. We really mattered at that time. When has a Kentucky football team of the last 32 years mattered and finished at #4 in the country?

You guys have a slight edge right now, but by no means did you look 'bigger, stronger and faster'. You guys just had a better gameplan and executed more effectively. Do you really believe that Kentucky fans have enough credibility to tell us what is wrong with our program, considering the fact that your program has won 9 SEC games in 5 years? Yes, you've beaten us four years in a row. But lets put it into perspective. You're not playing an elite brand of football. We're not very good, played terribly and still could have won the game. But congrats, we didn't.

Since 1985.

In that time span, we have had:

Four 8 win seasons
Two 9 win seasons
Three 11 win seasons

Losing 4 in a row to this bunch is one of the worst things EVER in Carolina football history....& it's a putrid history.
Who are we to judge Rod where's our full trophy case? Take away the Spurrier years and what cha got is Kentucky. We just got to get better.

How much of a role do you think Rupp had with the Bear leaving Lexington?

Rupp had less to do with Bear Bryant leaving KY than did the State of Kentucky legislature. They passed a rule that KY colleges could not recruit players outside the state borders. Bryant left the next year. Stories are told that Rupp got a Cadillac for winning the national championship while Bryant got a cigarette lighter for his bowl win. Not a true story. Bryant left because of recruiting limitations

Geez! Don't blow a gasket. I admitted that Ky football history was putrid. South Carolina history had been almost as bad. Both programs have had periodic success, but not lasting success. Hope it changes for both teams. Right now it seems that we are stronger. The difference in the game Saturday was the OL and DL. KY DL gave up 54 yards rushing and KY OL managed to control the game by moving the chains on long drives. Our long-suffering fan bases grow weary of unsustained success. The universities ask for more and more money and yet we do not see sustained success. Drives everyone crazy.

Your team is 2-1 and soon to be 3-1. Your team will get better this year and will be bowl eligible. Good luck to you and we will see you in Lexington next year. Hope the weekend is a Keeneland race day in October so you can have a double header day in Lexington

Surely you're joking. I would say most people are wondering why he hasn't won more.
Because he's using 18 year old kids who don't fully develop till they are gone. It's pretty simple. Never been done before. He has 2 sophs this year so don't pencil them in the final four this year. It's just too hard being that young. The two sophs won't even lead them in scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks, or minutes played. Also neither played defense very well last year.

Appreciate the reply, 51. I had heard the story about the Caddy and the Lighter before.

When did the KY legislature rescind this piece of micromanagement legislation?

So when you made an investment in football you averaged 5 wins a year and got to the Taxslayer bowl? I feel so much better about Saturday now!
You have a reason to feel good. You lost to a Kentucky team that barely beat an Eastern Kentucky team the week before.

You played well.

In the past most Kentucky fans have only cared about basketball, as long as we were somewhat competitive winning half our games and going to an occasional bowl fans were ok with that.
.

That's a load of horse crap

Kentucky football fans are some of the most loyal fans in the country. Not sure you're a real Kentucky fan because that's an asinine statement. Just because the product hasn't always been great, does not mean the fans havnt cared.

Kentucky, since commonwealth stadium was expanded in 99 has consistently been in the top 30 for attendance nation wide. Yep, sure seems like they don't care.

Here's an article discussing our attendance.

Next time, speak for yourself and not us true Kentucky fans.

I'll agree with everything except us finishing 3rd. We didn't.

It depends if the team is winning or not. Kentucky started 0-2 last season and the average attendance dropped from 61K in 2015 to 53K per game in 2016.

I'm sure there will be a big crowd for the Florida game on Saturday. But if the team collapses mid-season, I doubt the stands will be very full for Ole Miss.

Don't take my comment the wrong way....we're the same way with basketball attendance. If our team is winning, fans will show up in large numbers (We lead the nation in WBB attendance). There are some programs that win and nevertheless still struggle to draw a crowd, so I don't think that reflects badly on our fan bases.

It's coaching. Muschamp was and is a big mistake for USC. The worst part is that it will take 5-6 years for you to get it.
The same folks that are telling us Muschamp is a mistake, are the same ones that told us in 2009 that Dabo was a fool.

The jury is still out, and will be for a couple of years. Watch recruiting. Watch game tactics, including player development. See how well known problems are fixed.

Over dramatic....we are 17-11-1 vs Kentucky. I wonder if Climpson felt owned during the 5 straight run?

Okay, KY. Show us what you have this year. Win the east. Because other than beating us you have done very little in the SEC under Stoops. Meanwhile we will keep building, too.

Not at all. They just kept recruiting which is exactly what we need to do. We can out recruit the likes of KY. They have done a little more with less, though. I'll give them credit for that.
