We better not look past Furman.

It's just so strange that you think that's a reflection of the university of south carolina and not a reflection that the best Beamer could do (or chose to do) was Loggains.

Strange that you see it over and over and over again under multiple coaches, and still think it is Beamer and has nothing to do with how good the job is in comparison to other schools.

Then no excuses for losing to UT and Clemson this year, right?

Idiotic to think there is some guarantee that we beat either. Spurrier beat Vanderbilt year 1 and 2, and then lost to them 2 years in a row in year 3 and 4. Was that inexcusable? Should he have been fired for that?

In fact, in year 3, Spurrier lost to VANDY AT HOME. Scored 6 points. Two field goals. ZERO TDs.

South Carolina is NOT an easy place to win. Period.

Yada, Yada, Ya ... I guess we're gonna find out out tomorrow.

I started this thread warning that we better not look past FURMAN.

YOU guys are really beginning to show your ignorance. TIME TO SHUT UP!!!

We will know, this time tomorrow!!!!

Did anyone argue Spurrier was a great coach because he beat Vanderbilt in year 1 or 2?

Or are you just trying to deflect because you think we'll lose to Clemson and UT this year?

I mean Muschamp hired Mike Bobo and Beamer lost him.

Should be a sign it was Beamer and not the university.

You act like the possibility of that is news. I warned last year after some of our idiot fans celebrated last year when Satt left for Nebraska. Also warned we could lose the bowl game.

So, YES, I absolutely think we could lose to one or both. But your Beamer Derangement Syndrome seems to think there is "no excuse" for that. I've never seen a year where there was "no excuse" to lose to Clemson or Tennessee. Even in down years, both typically have more talent than us. We could be undefeated going into those games with any coach and still lose. Spurrier lost to both in his third season. Took Spurrier 6 years to beat both in the same season. And none of those Clem/TN teams were as good as the ones Beamer beat last year in season 2.

But I'm pulling for this team and Loggains to get it together and beat both. But no matter the results, it won't result in a coach change, at least not by us. On the other hand, YOU are hoping they lose to Furman so everyone will "wake up".

It's a stupid thread to begin with. Any real Gamecock fan knows we have never been able to look past anybody.

Go back a reread the thread title. The thread is about NOT looking past Furman, which means you're supposedly agreeing with it.

But reading comprehension was never your strong point.

Regardless, the only people talking about losing to Furman are the ones who want it to seem like a good win, because they are worried there won't be many of those on the schedule.

Well, if you weren't talking out of both sides of your mouth, you wouldn't be talking at all.

Of course, that would be an improvement for you. Better to be silent, and thought a fool, than to open open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Classic. This coming from a guy who rarely posts anything positive on the team, but rather pumps up the opponent.

Way to work feces into your post Dave. Are you still stuck on that plane turning around you posted?

To repeat- just for the conspiracy nut job in chief (you)

Talking about other coaches is stupid- and silly - but typical of some of the feces spread by some of the conspiracy nuts on here.

We have our coach. He'll have 3-5 more years to put a consistently good team on the field.

This is hard for you you to understand- but a poster can post negative thoughts about the team and still understand Shane Beamer is the head coach and isn't going anywhere no matter how much whining cry-babies iike you complain about it.

Ummmm....What have I said negative about Beamer? Check my posts. I was actually defending him.

You're the one talking up Furman. Make a prediction Dave.

App State already showing a much better performance versus UNC. They have the lead now.

App State is a solid team again this year. Many of the guys who rolled in to College Station and bested #6 A&M last season are still on the roster. I would expect UNC to eventually pull away in the 2nd half. However, App certainly has the ability to hang for 60 minutes. We should consider plucking their roster and staff, if needed.

I feel like Spencer Rattler is just too good not to beat Furman.

But maybe losing to Furman would be the wake up call our fanbase needs at the moment.

Edit: But I'll say it again, because I think it's getting missed. If you're worried about Furman, you must think we are a 3 or 4 win team. If that's your thought, then I'm fine.

LOL!!! Not pick'n' on you but, funny how at 2-6 our outlooks change. And the best part is ... who was once thought the Fool is now considered a Sage.

Ha, true!

I was right that we didn't need to worry about Furman, but I was apparently way too much of a sunshine pumper when I said we didnt need to worry about being a 4 win team. That is actually likely right now.

Yes, but I was also right when I said we better not take Furman lightly. They are #3 in America in FCS currently. Fortunately we took em seriously and won by a nice margin, but ANY top 10 FCS team can pull an upset over the bottom half of the SEC, which we are. 2023 Furman, it turns out, is a legit top 10 FCS team and Im glad we showed up to play that day, unlike Citadel 2015.
