What type Offense would you want for SOS;or does it matter

We were successful with the true read option and Shaw...
We were successful with a more traditional scheme and Dylan...with a few creative blasts from SOS we would have won 3-4 more games...a better D would have helped too.

Bama was wood shedded by OSU and their qb was not a run threat...just an efficient runner. So, the mobile qb is not a MUST HAVE!

I like our scheme this past season. If DT had just been willing to run a few more times when it was there....
I would like to see a splash of Ok St creativity in critical down/distance situations.

EX: Split a Tackle and TE and WR to both sides. Line up G-C-G...with QB & RB. Depending the D match up, you take the quick out or the draw. In a 4th and 2, I'd taken Mike Davis in a 3 blocking 5 for 2 yards any day. This is not the base of the O...just the 1 off to create matches in situations.

Imagine either Mitch/Nosovitch/Nunez,
along w Pharoh, and Shaq Davidson all lined up at QB...all looking ready to get the snap. And each getting it at different times.
With 3 good runners...and all 3 w QB experience....makes a D pause and find the ball before reacting. In a short yardage situation, that split second pause could be death!

Any offense which doesn't get set, then look to the sidelines for instructions and gives the defense time to adjust.
Keep them guessing and on their heels!
Attack!!

We have a hall of fame coach. Do you think you know more than him? Let him worry about that. We will do better if you leave that up to the ole ball coach. He can coach 'em up.

Maybe he needs to coach up the offensive line because Elliott can't seem to get these guys to block. Elliott can jump up and down, be a good cheerleader but his lines are way off from being even descent.

I always though it funny that EVERY other team in the country can turn it over to a true freshman qb and they can do well, but we can't because they haven't learned the system because its so complex.

I think that's one of our problems... We have no quick snap threat whatsoever. Even when they are down by 3 running the 2 minute drill they are still taking 20 plus seconds to snap it looking over to the sideline for a play the opposing defense already knows is coming.

Enough with the revisionist history. 7-6 is not a success! Last year was a fail. Let's get back to the identity that was a success for us.

As far as Ohio State goes, you're just making stuff up to fit your agenda. They had 3 quarterbacks who could run the ball very well...and who knows?...maybe they have more on the roster.

More video of the "qb who was not a run threat" running the ball very well against the No.1 rush defense in the country at the click.

I just want us to run out of the I-Formation more...win the field position battle, start at the 40 instead of the 20 so it opens up more agressive base play calls, this depends on special teams of course but run out the I and hit a play action fake and watch everything open up.

what SC needs is a new OL coach, he brings nothing to the table, his recruiting is also over rated, probably 4th best recruiter on staff.

Our line will struggle as long as Elliott is the OL coach

I hope we have another really fast receiver who has confidence. We need Jerrell to work on his catching ability, and a QB who takes care of the ball. Of course you need a solid OLine to make go.

Speed kills. If we can start running a few tempo packages, I believe we have a legit chance at overwhelming a lot of SEC teams on offense.

As far as running QB vs Pro-Style, doesn't matter. We have to have the right tools to utilize both.

If we are going the mobile QB route, we HAVE to have an All-Purpose Back out of the back field that can block, catch and run. That gives our QB time to get free.

If we are going Pro-Style, we HAVE to have a down-hill runner and playmaking WRs who are money 1-on-1.

On defense, we have to get away from the 3-4...we also need to move some of our underweight DEs to LB. Anyone who doesn't tackle in practice should NOT see the field. No more resting on our laurels. Any CORNERS who can't cover 1-on-1 should NOT be in the game.

Football is fairly simple. I was NOT a fan of Ward's 3-4 but I don't think it was the biggest issue. I think we played players who did NOT want to play at the level of their predecessors. They didn't attack the ball, they didn't want to tackle, they didn't react to misdirection. They weren't in position and seem to be at least 2 seconds behind every play. Some big plays looked like a basic breakdown of fundamentals...

Our defense didn't look like they were well coached on the basics, not the scheme. Our offense looked like they could have won almost any game...if they were paired with a decent defense...
