Wild claim about Cam Newton

I "kinda" agree with GOOD, but his 60% accuracy was do to him being able to "Thread needles" and throw so hard, he beat defenders to the reciever.. I watched his Whole career at Carolina and he would lock on one guy, he could throw it to that one guy, like the proverbial noone's business.

And 60% of the time it worked 100% of the time!

some comments:
"I've never been in a system where I had to know where the [middle linebacker] was [lining up] … You can’t say that’s stupid and why wouldn’t you know that?" - a professional QB who doesn't think he needs to know where the mike is? AND he admits NE had to dummy-down the playbook - and he STILL DIDN'T KNOW IT!!! And this guy thought he'd keep his job? Cam has to be one of the dumbest most delusional people on the planet. ZERO chance they'd want this guy anywhere NEAR Jones while he's learning the ropes....

"The following Patriots players are cut due to not learning the plays: Cam Newton. That is all."
Someone is certainly full of himself, and still believes that he is in 2015. Move on, Cam. Ya' done.

Anyone who would cut a hole in the top an expensive hat, so that his add-on hair can sprout through, should tell you something not just about what's on his head, but also what's inside of it. Cam, needed help studying a playbook, but he didn't any help being narcissistic.

He's no Isaac Newton. But he still holds his Ego, that continues on. It's no surprise that Mac Jones is Better, with a pretty good O-Line. Plus JONES has the Hunger to Learn & Succeed.

Okay, so Cam in his own words says they had to dumb down the playbook for him.

Does this put to bed the silly notion that it was a racist comment?

I'd wager the one arguing that point just decides not to revisit the thread, but will not hesitate to repeat the mistake again in the next thread.

By the way, his quote:
"I didn't play good last year,” Cam said. “I was inaccurate. I didn’t know the playbook. They had to dumb it down … "

Cam's explanation:

"The reason they released me is because, indirectly, I was going to be a distraction without being the starter," the one-time NFL MVP said. "Just my aura. … That’s my gift and my curse. When you bring a Cam Newton to your facility, when you bring a Cam Newton to your franchise, people are interested."

"Let me be honest with you. If they would’ve asked me would I play behind they say, ‘Cam, we gonna give the team to Mac. … You’re gonna be the second stringer. We expect you to be everything and some to guide him throughout this tenure,’ I woulda said absolutely.

"The truth of the matter is this, he woulda been uncomfortable."

Newton did credit Jones for winning the job, saying the rookie proved to be "productive."

I’m overwhelmed by the humility.

We need to pray that God softens his heart. There are racist in the world but he needs to know we're all not the great white satan. I look at racism like an IQ test. The less brain cells one has the more likely they are to judge people based on how we were born. I watch young black and white children play together and they don't give a shit squirt about what color they are. They have to be taught to hate.

Dumbing down the playbook is nothing new.

There are plenty of subpar QBs that know the playbook front to back and back to front.

The NFL is about winning...or making the most money while losing.

You guys are so funny. I was going to embed this video. However, you beat me to it and took a 15 second comment out of it to conclude he didn’t know the playbook. You took it totally out of context when all he was saying that it was different than how the Panthers did it. All players who change teams go through this. The plays are all essentially the same, but the language is different. Cam dispelled the notion that Mac was helping him with the playbook. Quoted several times “what is he going to teach me?” Finally, Cam is being a good sport about this. He wants to play again. So, it does him no good to go negative. However, you could tell Daddy Newton, who appears about my age, is feeling some type of way in how the media is portraying his son. He made mention of the stirring up of old negative stereotypes about the Black QB. So much for me being the angry Black guy trying to stir up something. Cam’s own father is right where I am with it. I have a teenage son that plays football and if someone went there with mine we would have a problem too. The final sad thing about this thread and Cam’s response video is that it just highlights the disconnect between certain communities in this country and it goes beyond race right now. Depending on what group you belong to, “Up is Down” or “Down is Up” and the other side is delusional. Still disappointed in the Newtons on their vaccine stance, but I am glad to see them in good spirits and taking the high road when so many people are taking this opportunity to go low.

Actually, I liked your posts until this one. Pretty balanced. I definitely didn’t see you as Satan. However, you guys are just being overly defensive. Just because I think “Rob Ninkivich” made a racist comment “in my opinion” does not indict all white people and I think that is where people made a mistake. Many on her expressed their opinion that Cam can no longer play. I never attacked that. I attacked the notion of a NFL veteran putting out there that a veteran Black QB is so dense he had to be taught the playbook by a rookie. If you don’t know how that was going to land with a whole lot of Black people, then what can I say. Finally, the God softens the heart thing some of you guys use is lame. You expressed your opinion. Why can’t I express mine without being Professor Griff fom Public Enemy. Oh, Skip Bayless expressed a problem with what Ninkovich said on “Undisputed” today. Is he the angry white guy? I think you need to pray a little longer for the softening of his heart, ROFLMAO!!!

What’s that say for an Auburn education when a rookie Alabama QB has to teach a veteran Auburn QB the playbook?
I would throw T Bo in there as well. His throwing motion look like a wind up toy. The guy has been riding his athletic ability the covers for intelligence shortcomings. Urban didn't do well by Tbo by not helping with his throwing motion. Florida and Auburns offenses at the time accentuated their athletic abilities but never did anything to help them grow as quarterbacks. As Cams athletic abilities fade I bet he realizes now he should have prepared more between the ears. Bill Romanowski said football is 90 mental at the NFL level.

I'll give you credit, you've managed to sink even lower in my estimation.

Cam Newton himself is directly quoted:
"I didn't play good last year,” Cam said. “I was inaccurate. I didn’t know the playbook. They had to dumb it down … "

In your rush to uncover racism under every pebble, you'll directly contradict Cam's own statement. You are literally arguing that he knew the playbook when his exact words are "I didn't know the playbook". All this rather than a simple, "oops, I was wrong" statement.

I feel sorry for you.

I separated this because I agree strongly with this statement. You are a prime example.

You are arguing the exact opposite of a direct quote for the sake of generating racism.

I use this forum for entertainment purposes but sometimes I am led to use it for more important things. You mentioned balance. Since life began it's been a battle of good versus evil. I'm not going to split that difference to be balanced. I fall short many times but I am mearly a sinful human being. God let's my heart know when I fail his wishes. I ask for forgiveness knowing his love and patience and I keep my eye on the prize. I did pray for you adcoop, as I pray for myself and others. Even though my love and concern for you caused you to roll on the floor and laugh your ass off I will continue to pray for you. You are created by God in his image and are therefore worthy of my love. We are all brothers and sisters in the eyes of God so it is in my eyes as well.

Very well said.
