--Thought the team handled the adversity of playing on the road and the lightning delay really well. He doesn't think the team has the depth it wants right now in "a lot of spots," but most spots on the field have a guy with experience starting. He thinks the team played with an edge, and now it's about doing that against Kentucky.
The team needs to get better at consistency and not shooting itself in the foot offensively. Defensively, they "did not get hurt on some things we should have." The team has to clean some things up on punt block and special teams.
The turnovers also can't happen and the team has to get better in the red zone and on third down.
Offensive player of the game: Jake Bentley
Offensive lineman of the game: Zack Bailey
Effort players: Dennis Daley and Sadarius Hutcherson
Defensive player of the game: Javon Kinlaw
Defensive linemen of the game: Keir Thomas, Bryson Allen-Williams
Hard hat of the game: Keir Thomas
Ballhawks: Javon Kinlaw, Aaron Sterling, Rashad Fenton
Special teams players of the game: Kiel Pollard, A.J. Turner
Injury news: K.C. Crosby has a broken finger but Muschamp said he'll be fine. Rashad Fenton has a quad injury but he practiced Sunday, along with Josh Belk who is limited a little by a non-serious ankle injury. OrTre Smith has a genetic condition in his knee and will have a CT scan tomorrow. More on Smith here.
D.J. Wonnum will "at best" be back in two weeks, but it could be longer. He's set to meet a doctor this week to check on his progress.
--In terms of creating and sustaining an edge every week, Muschamp said it's a challenge for the football team. Said he told the team it's "so what, now what." He asked them if they need anyone to motivate them or need to be a self-starter. Said he and the coaching staff will try to figure out how to do that internally.
--The defensive backfield improved after its showing against Georgia, despite not being "as tested" against Vanderbilt.
--Kentucky has a good football team. Benny Snell is "outstanding" and a "violent back." The Wildcats are good up front and are getting some solid quarterback play. In terms of stopping a wildcat package, it's about numbers and stacking the box, if that happens, but Kentucky will stack the line or move guys around to get those.
--The team tackled better than they did against Georgia against "different guys." The defense only gave up three explosive plays, which was a big key for them going into the game. "That usually goes back to tackling and leveraging the ball the right way."
--No update on Jamel Cook. This is what Muschamp said, in full, on if cleared, if he'll play this season: "Well, he hasn't been working with our defense just because of the uncertainty. We're hoping to hear something, but I can't play the what-if game."
