I gotta say, this years team has taken me by surprise

Troll - The current data and perception thereof has Beamer performing as well as Spurrier did over a 4-year time frame.

In fact, Beamer is now outperforming in Year 4 with tougher competition and the NIL to contend with.

Although considering your storied history of winning, we probably need to get your perspective on the matter.

Unsurprising you're the loser trying to claim victory early.

6-6, 225-pound Kings Mountain, NC William Vaughn talks Gamecocks visit, offer

North Carolina was first to tender 6-foot-6, 225-pound Class of 2026 tight end William Vaughn an offer on Sept. 14 after his gameday visit to Chapel Hill. Since then, his recruitment has blown up, with 10 others following, including big-name Power Four programs Duke, Florida, Florida State, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.

Vaughn received his No. 12 offer from the Gamecocks at the Missouri game. "It was amazing. I felt great," he said in reaction to hearing the news. Vaughn heard of the offer from tight ends' coach Shawn Elliott, he told me. "Yes sir. The conversation was great. He has a lot of energy," he said.

Vaughn likes what he sees in Elliott as a coach and a person, he said. "As a coach, he gives a lot of energy to the team, and as a person, he is willing to answer any questions that you have."

He likes the program's fan support and believes he would fit in well in Carolina's offense. "I feel like I would fit in on the offense, and the fans are wild," Vaughn said.

We're "right" in the moment which is all we have to work with in terms of evaluation.

Coaching contracts are out of our control and are dictated by market factors.

Following this season, the focus will be on Year 5.

Spurrier was 7-6 in both year's 4 & 5.

Also important to note that we're using our best coach in history as a metric and he ain't coming back.

There is no such thing as being right in the moment. That's just what losers tell themselves so they can avoid admitting they're wrong in the end.

The entire question is if you're perceiving the current data and making the right conclusion. You don't get credit for perceiving the current data and coming to the wrong conclusion.

I gotta say, this years team has taken me by surprise

True. I hesitate to make those comparisons though, as they were very different teams when spurrier played them.

BUT, he also lost to Vandy of all teams, so individual examples can always be pulled to support something.

Overall, Beamer isn't in Spurrier's ball park. He's in the parking lot outside hoping to buy a ticket just to be in Spurrier's ballpark.
Agree — Maybe someday he’ll rise to Spurrier status.

To the young fans running onto the field after the game: are you people just plain stupid?? Do you understand how much you are costing the university when you do it? If the SEC fines us this time it will be at least a half-million dollars, which means your athletic fees will increase dramatically. Dang people, act like you’ve been there before. When you’re ranked higher than the team you just beat there’s absolutely no reason to run into the field. F’n idiots

Dawn being Dawn at ESPYs

Y’all got me thinking. We had nine people behind the work shed this morning pitching horseshoes, drinking coffee and eating sausage. The regular crowd. The political discussion was straight-forward and informative. No backbiting, just folks wondering what’s going on in our country. Then, like usual, the conversation turns to sports and that’s when it gets heated. You are either Steelers or Cowboys, etc. I don’t think but two of us have college degrees (I have 3 from 1977 to 1985, but most of these guys are smarter than me - I listen to them all the time). We all work hard, have raised good families, and wish people the best. The group includes a truck driver, two in landscaping, one in moving stuff for his company, one a seller of heavy equipment, one an insurance adjuster, etc. Regular guys, so to speak. You cannot call these people “deplorables” or “misinformed” and look down on them and expect to get their vote.

You could start a list of people that America sees as being successful but having no college degree and that list would be a list of millions of names. It is the majority. Some achieve celebrity status, for whatever that’s worth (not much), people like Steve Jobs, Richard Petty - but 99% are good common folks and they vote.
In a book written several years ago, “The Millionaire Next Door” found that most millionaires in the U.S. do not possess a college degree. They all had a high propensity toward finding value in consumer products and saving via reliable investments. I’m sure everyone has heard of the 401K millionaire. I personally have five millionaire friends from high school that are millionaires without having a college degree.

I can not begin to explain what it was like sitting in that stadium. Our reliable D was no where to be found. The refs refused to call Mizzou for holding and their OL was just too strong for us. We could not get any run game yardage at all. Their D owned the line.
Sellers saved us. 2 times he got 2:00 min drill 75 yd TD's in under 1 min.
What a game. This team really showed how good they are tonight. Most teams would have lost when they were down with 1:10 left.
Amen! These guys refuse to give up!
