2021-2022 WBB Team

How so? I always took at both teams when watching a basketball game...That 6'6" Lee is a great player....she was not listed in the Top 100 basketball players the year she graduated high school eventhough she was dominating the competition...

I guess you can always find a lizard under a rock if you look for it...

6'4" Riley Stack may be that lizard under the rock for us in '23...
Here is a link to wbbblog with their article on Stack. She already has 3 top25 offers and UCONN, Stanford and Louisville are all actively recruiting her.

She ain’t a lizard and she ain’t hidden under a rock!

She's not listed in any top 50 recruiting rankings for women's college basketball...I stand by what I said, "she may be our lizard under the rock"...

Amihere ran the point tonight like a lady on a mission...she just continues to get better and better.
One thing on that. No one challenged her bringing the ball up the court. Can she keep control of the ball with tight defense and a shorter player jabbing at the ball? That's Henderson's strength.

And take into account how much better our numbers would be if dawn kept her starters in the whole game like a lot of coaches do. We would be top 5 in most categories. I would still rather our bench get playing time just pointing it out.

Yep - we pulled our starters around the 6 minute mark of the 4th Qtr., Around the 4 minute mark of the 4th, Kansas St puts Lee BACK IN! We were up by 31 pts 61-30 at that point. Lee had 8 pts and 5 rebounds against Boston at that point - as well as against 4 fouls that stunted her time on the court - but then scored 6 quick points, 1 reb, and 1 block until she came back out at the 1 minute mark. They out-scored us 14-4 in that time - Lee got her stats for the game looking more respectable, and the Wildcats got their deficit looking better as well.

But in the long run, it helps our reserves get court time and in-game seasoning which will better help the team for the physical SEC schedule that is always rife with heavy fouls and starters having to sit on the bench for spells. And it ALSO helps the team come tournament time, when games against the cream of the crop start happening day after day....

I'm sure she'll get plenty of practice against Destanni & Zia applying pressure. If she struggles against them, then I'm confident coach will account for that. She won't be surprised.

Also important to note how well Boston is playing in limited minutes. She's averaging about 25 minutes a game and putting up NPOY type numbers on both sides of the ball despite playing considerably less than the other prime candidates.

I guess there's isn't a thread for Kansas St so....

Good team win. Great game by Aimhere. Girl, was on her way to a Quadruple-Double. But, at the same time I'm not jumping up just yet. With her you get a great game then she falls apart the next.

It's imperative we get Henny back for Maryland. She has many days off to heal. Hopefully she's back.

Just thought it was odd it took her so long to get in when she is usually the first freshman off the bench.
I was wondering about that to. I think #3 prospect Rivers is starting to put it together. The basket isn't falling yet - but that kid is going to be a beast

#4 Feagin also

It's clear after last night that Amihere is our 2nd point guard.

How does that affect the rotation? Amihere has been first player off the bench, coming in for Saxton. I don't know how much coach wants to tinker with her rotation against Maryland, Duke and Stanford, but it would make more sense to bring Amihere in for one of the guards instead.

The Amihere, Boston, Cardoso lineup was very effective last night, but in large part because it totally neutralized K State's best player. It's a bit riskier against a smaller team who has players that can dribble penetrate and kick out and hit 3's.

Coach has 9 days to between games to consider her options.
LA will start at PG until Henny is back and then she can sub in for Saxton or Henderson. We need Henny on the floor when she's better.

That game looked really exciting. Watkins seems to have good control with her body to putback shots while in mid air. Whereas Fulwiley has crazy range and all the confidence in the world. Hope we can get her as well.
I believe Fulwiley has been AAU teammates with Watkins, Cooper, Johnson and Cardoso at various points. We were the first to offer her (along with Ole Miss) when she was in the 7th grade. She would be naturally fit for the role Zia is playing once Zia leaves. So it seems like we have a good shot with her, but who knows what a particular player is looking for in a college team?

Paige Bueckers injured with 38.5 seconds left in ND game. Best wishers to her.

Note the score.

I know the king ward types believe in "leave the starters in and show no mercy," but it seems unnecessary to me.

WARNING: This is kind of hard to watch. I've seen worse, even to players who returned in a relatively short time span. No telling the severity.

I hate, HATE injuries.

It didn't look that good at all. I wish for her a speedy and full recovery.
It's weird: the injury to John Metchie of Bama yesterday didn't look all that bad. He was walking around afterwards. He did an interview with the SEC Network and said he felt OK. Now, I'm seeing he may have torn his ACL.

Seriously, why keep her in the game? This is totally on him, she has a history of injury and she's already been averaging 35 minutes a game, this is all ego for no reason.

100%. Geno's ego knows no bounds. He is probably still ticked about losing to ND when Muffet still coached there and was trying to take it out on them.

It's no secret that Muffet and Geno don't like each other. As they mentioned in the broadcast UConn has lost 20 times in the past 10 years and 9 of them came from Notre Dame. So I wouldn't put it past him.

Geno has a history of running up scores and it has never bitten him on the ass. That was just the price opponents paid, “Welcome to the big time kid, don’t like getting humiliated, well eff you.” For some strange reason he got a pass.

Well it bit him today. Bueckers had foot surgery this summer and was late starting fall practice due to rehab.

The ONLY reason she was on the court was to run up the score. Here is a segment lifted from the ESPN article

When asked why she was still on the floor even with Connecticut having a large lead, Auriemma was candid.

"I don't have an answer for why she was in the game," Auriemma said. "But yeah, I don't like our team without her on the court."

The BY is a hoot right now. Posters chewing on Geno's ass and turning on each other. Hate it for the player but the coach and fans deserve the melt down.

OMFG Geno, you are the coach!! Don’t blame her for wanting to play, just sit her ass down and develop your bench.

As for a concerted effort to rest her over the last 4 games, lets examine that BS

USF 38 minutes
USC 38 minutes
Seton Hall 34 minutes. Still in the game with 2 minutes to go with a +20 lead
ND 39.5 minutes

Exactly, the coach runs the team, not the player. You have to be quite small to blame the player in the moment like that.
