2021-2022 WBB Team

Haters going to hate
Come on DarkCock — Hater — really!?? Just because someone always points out obvious flaws doesn’t make them a hater. Perhaps that one voter has taken note of our propensity to turn over the ball, or give up easy paint points on cuts to the basket, or Zia’s inconsistency in putting the ball in the basket. There are many reasons to question a team being the true number one team at this point in the season.

Au Contraire. The sardonicism was not directed at the TEAM; but merely some of the BOOSTERS.
So first it was hyperbolic now it was meant at the boosters, please get your excuses straight. It is both funny and tiring to watch you do mental gymnastics.

And I can’t wait to hear you wriggle and deny you said this was the greatest collection of women’s basketball talent ever assembled. And now you want to chide others for being too positive

You’re not going to die if you just say, hey I got the word wrong, or I over reached, or yea I tend to be overly negative at times. You are a wonderful poster, just claim shit.

Hopefully cautious, wasn't she banged up in our last game and had to leave early, so maybe they don't want to push anything that might make her be out for an extended period of time.

I don't mind the pinstripes but it's giving me baseball vibes.
Going to need her for the next two games and not so much tonight is my thinking.

Having reviewed all aspects of the conversation and the implications thereof - expressed or implied - I find no reason for any revisions. I know why I do what I do and what I'm thinking when I do it. On the other hand, I never have believed I can know for certain what another person is thinking or what is motivating that person.

Now that was nice solid game from start to finish and we gave our bench some solid experience. Bree Hall and Saniya Rivers could make this team a real problem if they keep up this confidence. Hoping we can play more like this against top teams come tournament time.

I appreciate that she's trying to keep it classy, but quitting on the team half way through the season and thanking the Bulldog Family at the same time doesn't feel right. There must be something else going on underneath.
I'm thinking so too. It could be the coach who was only appointed last minute, it could other players or really anything. But it must have been bad enough for her not wanting to finish out the season.

Right. I think it may have been mutual. She might have done something deserving of team discipline and both sides agree to a separation instead to avoid any drama.

What are the chances she ends up in Austin?

Some are speculating she might go to Texas because of Vic or here because we were one of her finalists. I also saw some mention Ole Miss or Michigan where she's from.

It really is a no win situation for UCONN.
Hold us to the contract and they look like jackasses. AND with Christyn Williams still out, they take a beating.

Not play and lose desperately needed SOS and chance at redemptio

REally dinged or cautious resting? Also I just don’t like the pinstripe unis
I didn't like them at first but for some reason the unis started looking better by the end of the night.

You were the one who ascribed infallibility to this team and almost snarled at several of us who directly told you that you were being unrealistic
I was being hyperbolic, as the discerning were readily able to discern.

Once again your words not mine, that you claimed as fact not hyperbole on page one of this thread

We really should be better top to bottom than any team Summit ever had, maybe better than any team ever.

I refer you to my reply in post #1817. It will stand on Judgment Day. The post you cited was calculated. Only I know for what purpose. But evidently it found a lodging place, which ought to be indicative of at least part of the purpose.

She would be a perfect fit at South Carolina. I had been hoping she would eventually transfer to us some day.

Damn....Rickea transferring. It's weird I was just thinking about her wasting away in Miss St after she damn near single handedly led that comeback against Georgia. SC was in her top 5 out of high school. But I see her going to Louisville or Ohio - closer to the house.

Hell, I was just checking in on this one and did not even know that she was missing in action. Maori Davenport no longer with Georgia Lady Bulldogs after one season

Wish them well.

Her mother was quoted as saying, she's transferring due to her "mental health"..................................................................................................................................................................................................OK......

Oh by the way mom, the "mental health" travels wherever she goes.............

If the source of her mental health issues are from the current coach or perhaps other teammates then no it won't follow her.

This past year both Syracuse and Florida had their coaches step down due to abuse allegations. Also a few years ago our own Kiki Herbert-Harrigan had entered herself in the transfer portal due to shenanigans of another player starting trouble.

I wouldn't discredit her claims. She came to MSU to play for Vic Schaefer and has since been coached by two other coaches. Then you add to it that 12 players have transferred out of the program in just the past two years and slot have transferred in. I can imagine with all those changes that the off the court chemistry might not be that great. The fact that she endured all that and left midseason makes me believe something serious is going on behind the scenes with likely her and another player.

Add to that the fact that the 3 Hayes sisters are at Miss State. They seem to have always left disharmony in their path. Now, all 3 are on one team.

I was trying to beat around the bush without actually saying it, but yeah that was my first thought as well. I feel like three or more siblings shouldn't be on the same roster in college. They could absolutely take over the locker room.
