2022 Recruiting

This class is on pace to be worse than any full class signed by Muschamp.

They literally don't understand how it works.
I understand just fine. I don’t agree with the moving of the goalposts. Beginning of June it was our ranking #, now that the ranking has moved into the top 20 it’s average rating. Some posters only want to frame things in the most negative light.

dude drop it, they don’t understand your argument. this class “seems” good because we (like boston college) have already signed so many. just drop it already…
But you’re also assuming no one in this class could get rated higher, there will be no other highly rated guys to fill out the class and that everyone ranked below will load up with higher rated guys and move past Carolina. It’s pretty certain that will happen with Bama and Florida but it’s not a lock that it happens with anyone else.

Yep...it's a crap shoot....especially with the CV year & new coaches.

It seems people would be more concerned with scholly numbers. How many do we actually have room for?

No, you should be prepared to eat crow when the class is filled.

I think it's more likely this class ends up right where the historical classes land, high teens or low twenties.

Then we can have endless arguments about how "this class is different" than all those other ones, and each side can claim they were proven right.

And that would be a decent class, and no where near Coastals class as one poster predicted. Hopefully the class will address our biggest needs.

Everything I post is factual. The fact that you cannot handle facts without your garnet colored glasses on is not my problem. You are correct though in one thing. I am not content with the way things are. I'm sick and damned tired of losing. I'm also sick and damned tired of loser fans like you that don't demand excellence from our team and just make excuses for losing. I'll go to tigernet when you go to hell.
A little humility and happiness goes a long way... simply saying, “Damn, didn’t see this flood of recruits coming, I am happy it happened.....hope it continues” is much more attractive than self justifying anger and the worn out cliche of you can’t handle the truth

Unfortunate posters like this and many exactly like him rather keep insulting the coaches , the program , and players daily. Even if they are proven wrong they either disappear from the thread or do all they can to spin their little post. Gets comical actually

And just like that Floyd is down to a 3 star on 24/7 composite. 3 days after committing to USC.

They give and they take away. Nick Emmanwori got rated a high 3* when he was unrated before, so even with Floyd's drop in rating, the class'es overall rank rose from 16th to 14th nationally, and from 6th to 4th in the SEC......

We've regularly had top 25 recruiting classes during multiple seasons when we were nowhere close to being in the top 25. You can't have winning seasons without recruiting top talent, but we've seemed to falter in the department of having winning seasons with rosters of top talent, at least based on these online recruiting "sources". Right now the proof in the pudding seems to be more towards our coaching than recruiting....

But while we're at it, Brubaker was a top 247 prospect for 247sports until he committed to us, and now he's not.....

I actually predicted our class wouldn’t be close to Clemson’s unfortunately.

that’s why you keep positing that lie, because you want me to praise Clemson.

We are on pace for outside the top 25 right now unfortunately.

You said we would end up with a class like Coastal. I hate Clem5on. You on the other hand seem to hate USC because all you post is negative. Some fan.

This is why you’re a troll. I never once said that.

But you keep claiming it because your arguments have no substance.

I make posts that are thought out with facts, logic, and knowledge I have accumulated about the game for over 40 years. When there are good things about the program I say so. However, when things don't look so good I also point that out in the interest of balancing realistic expectations. There are too many on here that are absolute Homers who distort things to give nothing but a rosy picture of the team when such is not the case. Most of these are clueless individuals who know little about the game. They just want to be cheerleaders. This is a discussion forum, not a cheerleading camp. I welcome anyone who wants to have a civil discussion about the facts. If they disagree with me, fine. I enjoy the debate. But I can assure you that when some idiot homer attacks me, calls me names, and tells me to go to tigernet I will fire back with both barrels blazing. I'm not going to tolerate BS. If you don't want to read it then you have the option to ignore it.

What are the other 11 teams you see jumping past Carolina at this point?
Alabama, Clemson, Southern Cal, Florida, UNC, Miami, A&M, and Auburn will assuredly pass is so the you’re only looking at 3-4 more to hit 25th.

It’s your life enjoy it.....Most of the arrows that are shot our way in life fall short or miss the mark. We don’t have to gather them up and stab ourselves with them.

Isn’t great how Beamer has totally flipped the discussion about this recruiting class in a month!! Did you see that coming? And are you happy about?

A&M is already ahead in national rankings as is BC to who has 22 recruits already so based on your theory they should drop well outside of the top 25 so you’re still looking for 5 other teams to make the jump. It’s just as likely that won’t happen as it is that it will.

Yes, but WHO makes up this flood of recruits.

We have enough data to know recruiting services have continuously gotten better at ranking high school players, and that recruiting is largely a game of probability.

Top 50 players are more likely to yield exceptional starters, and at worst solid contributors. Top 100 players are highly likely to yield very good starters, possible exceptional staters, and, at worst, contributors. You can do this on down the line, with a drop off around the 250 mark. You get beyond 250 and it’s more or less like playing the lottery.

The reason Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, and Clemson are good year after year is because of the total number of top 250 players they bring in each cycle. They are, simply put, just statistically more likely to bring in starter level players in each class because they are getting the guys with the highest ceilings and the lowest floors.

In the classes that drove South Carolina’s success under Spurrier, 2007 - 2012, you’re looking at around 30 top 250 players over that 6 year cycle— with a handful of top 50 guys who hit as exceptional.

Muschamp did about half that in his 5 years, with the jury largely out on his three top 50 guys.

To date, Beamer has landed exactly one top 250 recruit. There is absolutely nothing to be excited about on that front at the moment.

It’s obvious we are using different rankings based on the variations in teams.

But even if we finish in the 20s, it would still be worse than any class Muschamp recruited after his very first class.

Last year was around 80 and if Muschamp was still coach. We wouldn't be anywhere near top 25.

Well those classes brought us 6 wins over the last two seasons so I guess that’s our real benchmark.

Yes, I have to say at this point I am pleasantly surprised. We are far better now than we were at the first of June, which is not surprising considering June and July are probably the best months in recruiting. Given the circumstances I don't think anyone really thought we would have a stellar class, but this is a little better than I expected. Some say not because of 3*s, but I feel that star crap is just hype by recruiting services. I look at the measurables and what they look like on the field. That's why I said I think the top recruit of this class so far is unranked Emmanwori. This kid has all the tools. Size, speed, and athleticism. Most of all though, for a kid as tall as he is he has good balance. Sometimes tall kids, with a higher center of gravity don't have great balance, but from the tapes I've seen he does.

So all the teams that were behind us in recruiting rankings under Muschamp also had worse records?
I’m not going to entertain these strawman arguments.

The fact remains our recruiting is worse now than it was under the previous staff. That’s troubling.

Thanks. I can look at prospect film all day and still have no clue about what that means for college. The kids like Clowney everybody can pick out.
Let me watch basketball or soccer and I can envision much easier how they translate to college
