On Wednesday, Blythewood HS senior C/INF Tyler Romanik made a commitment to play baseball at The College of Charleston.

This is a big loss for the Gamecocks. Tyler Romanik is an immensely talented hitter and an even better young man. He had been a Gamecock commitment since the 9th grade.

Grayson Greiner also came out of Blythewood HS. If you compare Greiner and Romanik at the plate, there is no comparison. Romanik is the superior hitter. Like Greiner, Romanik is an excellent student and an extremely hard worker.

(Romanik missed most of his high school season this year due to a broken bone in his hand. However, he returned late in the season and hit for both power and average.)

Those who have watched Romanik play over the years know what a tremendous talent he is. Unfortunately, the College of Charleston is the big winner here. Damn!
