Wow had the game won and blew a 2 run lead in the top of the 9th. No dominate pitchers on this team, bullpen sucks.
I agree, have played 6 games vs a team with a pulse. 1-5. 4 of these at home.Gonna be a long season.

Hmmmmm I am not sure this team is even with Winthrop. Another BAD loss y today. That makes 1-7 verses teams with a pulse.Tough game yesterday. That was a really good series overall between two evenly matched teams.

And this from once Back to Back National Champions!!So hard to believe where we are in baseball today. Imagine Alabama football after Saban but they hire a series of losers and regress to the point of unrecognizable. Then multiply that by 100 and you still don't get to where we are today, lost in a conference of powerhouses that we can't begin to compete with.
Long time ago. Gamecocks fans are not happy about the new updated version. Can’t live off of past history. And this from once Back to Back National Champions!!
Honestly, I wish we could have just stayed with Ray the coach...Who knows what kind of long term dynasty he could have had. But, what happened happened and we are where we are. Sucks.in hindsight
Should have stuck with Chad a few more years to see what he could do. In baseball, you have to give coaches a few years to turn things.
Ray was done. He had always wanted to give administration a go. But I understand the sentiment.Honestly, I wish we could have just stayed with Ray the coach...Who knows what kind of long term dynasty he could have had. But, what happened happened and we are where we are. Sucks.
The future is not bright for this program!! Take Petry out and team is struggling to get to .500. Gonna be a long miserable season. Thank goodness we have women’s basketball for a few more weeks!!I was blown away by how bad Chad's teams were here at situational baseball when it came to offense. I had never seen a team look so unprepared for what may come up in all my life... and it seemed to get worse each year. Then right after that we hire a guy who came right out the gate sounding reluctant to play what? You guessed it... situational baseball.
I'd like to think the coach we have now has more of an appreciation for being prepared for anything but IDK anymore. Maybe he needs better players. Whatever. Not sure what the game plan for the future is. Wish I did.
I would imagine our two best players in Petry and Hall will be gone next year. I gotta think anyone who says "wait till next year" is in for a huge disappointment. The future is not bright for this program!! Take Petry out and team is struggling to get to .500. I totally Agree. Several players I THOUGHT would come throuh this year (other than Petry) have really been disappointing. No mention of names, Many of you Know the ones..I would imagine our two best players in Petry and Hall will be gone next year. As I said, I was blown away by what we could NOT do during his entire HC run here. That was the bottom line for me. Whether or not is was a hiccup or just in over his head or whatever, IMO, the time to move on was about right. Back to what we couldn't do though, it wasn't from a lack of trying. He'd try to play some smallball at times, we just weren't very good at it. That's kinda screwed up too and I dont know what is worse... being bad at something you know you will need or asking your guys to do something when you gotta know they aren't very good at. What the heck? Clearly the guys weren't seeing the ball well and if you cant see the ball well enough to bunt, you cant see the ball well enough to hit consistently. I expected way more given it was my understanding hitting was a big part of his resume. So yeah imo, we weren't doing the guys any favors by keeping him any longer. But I was pulling for him at the get go just like you were evidently. Glad he's done well at CofC. Heck i was pulling for Kingston at the get go before it became clear he wasn't quite sure about what he was doing. That's a guy we kept too long. I really dont care what he is doing now. Now for Mainieri, I have much respect for him. I'm pulling for him but you do have to wonder how long he will be here. Man its been a long time since we have been on a stable footing. But his C of C teams have been pretty good. I think it was just a hiccup for him in the grand scheme of things.
Hindsight tells me we should have given him another couple of years and give him a chance to learn from his mistakes.
The league is also much deeper now than ever before even before the recent additions.

As time goes on, its getting harder to recall how things played out but yeah probably should have. Funny how that works. I can vividly remember what his guys looked like at the plate but the off field stuff is already a blur.Chad probably should have fired an assistant and hired someone else. Probably would have given him one more year.
