That is not a problem as long as the team is winning. Recruits enjoy it, etc.
It doesn't start to look bad until the winning stops.
It looks a little better than Dabo did when he was treading water.
Though the clowning was novel at that point and brought media attention.
I thought it was more embarrassing he was more worried if Clemson won or not at the end while walking out of the presser lol. "Did Clemson win?"........."yeah they did", "Oh wow...ok"
We do have seemingly a lot of injuries but the teams you mentioned have deep benches we don't.
I'd say "match up" is the most overused excuse made by fans. You know, hey, "we don't match up well with Alabama". That usually means the other team has a lot more talent and you're about to get smoked.
Again, that is no excuse. We are in year 3 of this staff. If UNC can beat us handily without their 2 top receivers, we should be able to play with a few injuries. I don't think UNC has any deeper bench than we do, nor Mizzou, nor Florida, nor Kentucky. The problem isn't not having a deep bench. We have just as many scholarships as any other school. The problem is having poor evaluations of talent, and not developing players.

Injuries are caused by GOD or, the devil, depending on your denomination. BUT, Lack of Depth is caused by Poor Recruiting, The Inability to Coach-Up players, the inability to make adjustments to the Game Plan to take advantage of the available personnel, the failure to prepare for replacements and the inability to recognize available talent that has been under utilized previously ....... Or, in other words,

Beamer is 1-1 versus UNC. We're not going to beat them every time.
In addition, UNC has been pulling in Top 10 recruiting classes. They have better talent top to bottom.
We were just coming off a strong close to last season and were underdogs to UNC on a neutral field to start the season.
If fans get their feelings hurt over that, they have the very same thin skin that they are accusing the coach of. .....and he is right, you know. Most fans don't know what it's like in a locker room. They usually just have opinions about it.
Oh for crying out loud, we were playing in the state of NC and they opened as a 1.5 point favorite. That's basically even. They beat us 31-17 and it wasn't even close.
And they have not had ANY top 10 classes in the last 5 years. The best they had was #11 in 2022. In 2019 they were #31.

You know, I was told about all those "top ten" classes too, but never bothered to look them up. Once I did, (247 rankings) I also saw that they had a total of 0 top ten classes. I only went back to 2018 though.
I wonder where the notion of all these classes came from.
Edit: Also, per the "talent composite" site, we both had two 5 stars, and UNC had thirty 4 stars while we had twenty four. That doesn't seem like much of a talent gap.

UNC's was #14 that year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your argument above consisted of trying to play down UNC being ranked ahead of us in recruiting, that UNC wasn't "really" favored for our game this year, and that we should be beating UNC every time we play them with inferior overall talent?

You're still wrong. That's getting to be a habit with you. The 11th place was ONE FRIGGING YEAR, and that was 2022. In 2020 & 21 they were 14th and in 2019 they were 31st. 2018 & 2019 we finished ahead of them, so they haven't out recruited us consistently - according to the rankings that you so heavily believe in.
The average recruiting rank over the 4-year period leading into the game was as follows:
+ UNC: 17th
+ USC: 35th
And Mack Brown has been there since 2019.
