SOS wanted to quit previously, and should have. But you have to understand the reasoning behind his decision. Quitting when he did was a calculated move. He was hoping that Elliot could make it work, like Dabo did, and keep the job. Not that he gave one whit about Elliot getting the job. But if he did, both of his sons are still employed. And coaches are mercenaries. They bleed the school colors, and have an emotional connection, less than anyone. They are hired to do a job and then move on when a better opportunity arises, or when things go south. 95% percent of coaches could care less about the school itself. They just go through the motions because that is what fans like to hear. Yea, USC gave Muschamp a second chance at a head coaching career. But if he thinks the grass is just a little greener at another opportunity, he is gone.
