I’m 53 and have one speeding ticket in my life. I drive a Prius that doesn’t go over 70. That POS has caused permanent damage to a lady just doing her job. What the hell is wrong with you?

Nice political answer. You didn’t answer my question. What you drive now and your current driving record doesn’t tell me if you ever drove fast as a teenager.

Guess I was his age once and made the same stupid mistake. It wasn’t smart but that doesn’t mean he deserves to be crucified either. This is just a teenage who made the wrong choice and must learn from it. Nothing more nothing less. I have driven over 100 miles per house more times than I care to admit at his age.

Furthermore, I would love to know how they came up with 115. Seems fishy it’s exactly a multiple of 5 and good luck getting that to hold up in court. This is a misdemeanor with a fine as the penalty.

I have never driven over 70 miles an hour in my life. Why is that a political answer I made? If you have driven 100 miles an hour than you are an asshole who has endangered everyone else on that road for your stupidity. I would say that you needed better parents. But I doubt it was their fault. Quit defending the indefensible.

Nothing more, nothing less than "...injuries to the mail carrier were “severe and will require several months or longer for recovery.” Yep, it's just like an episode of Leave It To Beaver. As long as the little rascal learns his lesson and apologizes to the mail carrier for his or her boo boos.

He will face internal team discipline per CU Coach and AD. Crazy right?
Just like the player who pushed his gf down the flight of stairs. Or the player busted with cocaine. The list goes on. Did they ever catch the person who put that ostarine in their shampoos??? Hahaha. Bunch of F'n cheaters since before I was in 79.

Nice car he was driving $$$$
A spokesperson for Clemson Football released the following statement Sunday:

“Fred Davis remains with the program but will be subject to internal discipline. Grounds for internal discipline for misdemeanor charges like this are covered under the terms of the Clemson Student-Athlete Handbook, which says that the head coach can recommend a course of action, and upon concurrence of the designated CUAD administrator, administer sanctions.”
Internal "discipline" at Clemson:

1. Suspension from "voluntary" summer workouts. (see: McDaniel, DeAndre)

2. No seconds on dessert.

Saint Dabo and his coaches are watching the police reports. He has told them there could potentially be some big time recruits coming up.

I’m not defending him. All I’m saying is young adults make mistakes. If everyone in here was honest with themselves and you took a poll I guarantee you would be I the minority on this one. Yes it was still wrong but he doesn’t deserved to be kicked off the team. I have a feeling he will be suspended for Georgia. But to kick him off the team is just nonsense. I also find it hard to believe you are being honest in saying you have never been over 70. You have not owned a Prius your whole life.

You've never driven over 70 MPH?

Have you ever jaywalked?

Ever taken the tag off of a mattress?

Don't forget the drunken jet ski incident, the abortions for the members of the women's track team, the rape by Flowers, etc. I guess they minor in Death up there.

Causing severe injury to someone pushes it from innocent mistake to terrible tragedy. He deserves prison time for causing a bad injury with irresponsible behavior. I'm not saying I never drove fast, I'm say I never hospitalized someone whilst doing so.

How can he be going 115 mph and just be charged with reckless driving? That seems to cross the line into something more serious.
More serious? Reckless Driving is on the same tier as a DUI. It stays with you forever and is punishable by prison time. It's usually not treated quite so strongly, but it is not necessarily just a slap on the wrist.

Yeah good luck on see jail time for reckless driving. Not with mail overrun like it is now. $500 fine and it’s over defiantly for first offense.

The local media has not covered this story much at all. If the Greenville news ran 1 story on it last week and thats all. That is not covering a story.

News media doesn't typically provide nightly updates on vehicle accidents. There really isn't anything to report other than they are investigating...not like the police release daily updates on their work that day. Maybe if it was a high profile player or someone prominent was killed it would stay closer to the top.

Boy, there's a lot of knowledgeable folks on this thread...some think you go to jail for reckless driving and some think you go to prison.

After the Sam Montgomery and Trooper Salters incident you no longer go to jail for reckless and you definitely don't go to prison. Prison is for 90 days and over.

Folks need to stay in their lane when they have absolutely no clue what they are talking about.

Actually the charge can carry up to 10yrs in prison in SC. And up to a $5,000 fine. But yeah, normally it's not that big of a deal. But it could be if wanted.

So you never went fast in your teen early adult years?
No, not 110 in a residential neighborhood where the postal service workers has to make frequent stops. Should he go to jail forever no of course not. But stop making it out to be nothing. Go back to tigernet. You Bunch of clowns

IF the injured person dies within 3 years as a result of his/her injuries....which no one wants to happen. Otherwise, under SC law it is a misdemeanor.

Now, you can debate whether it should or should not be a misdemeanor....but as of now, it is.

Oh so because I don’t see it your way your reaction is to call me a tater. Got it.

The jackass who hit my sister-in-law and killed her was looking at his phone. And somehow didnt see the red light several 100 yards away. And all he got was 4 points off his license. My niece did sue the family.

You won't find all of us defending him. I hope (but don't expect at all) that he is removed from the team.

The only qualm I have with what you said is that it was in a neighborhood - my understanding is it was on 123, a freeway, not that it truly changes that much anyway.

other than that, yes.... absolute inconsiderate idiot. thank God no one was killed and I truly hope the best for the recovery of the mail carrier.

How is that scenario not vehicular homicide? Or manslaughter at the very least?
That reference was to a situation in which there is "great personal injury." If it is reckless driving that results in death it is a felony and IS punishable by up to 10 years. I am not sure what the statistics on the sentences are, but I have been appointed by the Probate Court as a special administrator of estates where their is a wrongful death suit...and have seen sentences from 6 - 18 months along with a fine. Shouldn't surprise many people when SC also has some of most lenient DUI and DV laws.

I thought Jeff said his sister-in-law was killed as a result? That's why I thought it would be a felony.
